More about this organization
A group of six WWF staff members pose smiling in a tropical rainforest, dressed in work clothes and WWF shirts.

Would you like to work alongside passionate colleagues to create a world where people and nature thrive by mobilizing millions of people? And help build the most inspiring and impactful nature conservation organization in the Netherlands? That’s what you’ll be doing when you work at the World Wildlife Fund (WWF-NL).

WWF-NL employs 170 talented and intrinsically motivated professionals. The organization consists of the Conservation, Engagement, Organization & Talent Development, and Finance & Operations departments. The HR team is part of the Organization & Talent Development department. The team reports to the Chief People Officer. To strengthen this team, we are looking for a

HR Business Partner

(32–40 hours per week)

The HR team contributes to WWF-NL’s strategy by making a targeted contribution to the development of the organization, the teams, and the people. As an HR Business Partner, you serve as a sounding board for managers on a wide range of HR issues. You make an impact by supporting and coaching managers, resulting in engaged and inspired teams. In addition, you’ll collaborate with your HR colleagues on projects that contribute to the organization’s development. These may include performance management, employee well-being, and pensions. Although the role requires a high degree of independence and self-reliance, you’ll also draw a lot of energy from the collaboration within our multidisciplinary team and the daily coordination with your internal client.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will serve as an inspiring sparring partner for the management team at WWF-NL. You will advise them on how to further develop their teams into engaged, passionate, and impactful teams. You will be able to translate the teams’ needs into HR solutions. The focus here is on the personal and professional development of individuals and teams, absence management, recruitment and selection, performance management, talent management, and sustainable employability. More administrative HR tasks, such as those related to absenteeism, are also part of your responsibilities. An important part of our organizational strategy is ensuring equality, fairness, diversity, and inclusion. You advise managers on these matters, both when asked and on your own initiative. You are an integral part of the leadership team of the department(s) you work for. In addition, you’ll be part of a dedicated HR team and will take on various HR projects together with your HR colleagues. You’ll work closely with colleagues in HR administration and be part of the international People & Culture community.

What we're looking for

The HR Business Partner role is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who already has a broad understanding of the field, is eager to further develop their skills, and is committed to actively contributing to the continued growth of the most inspiring and impactful nature conservation organization in the Netherlands.

  • You have at least 3 years of work experience as an HR Advisor/HR Business Partner and hold a degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
  • You have an interest in and experience with developing people, teams, and organizations. You excel at building relationships and are a strong discussion partner for managers and others in similar roles.
  • You are results-oriented, organized, and hands-on. You enjoy both providing strategic advice and taking on projects, as well as carrying out more operational tasks.
  • You have a strong moral compass and you are a person of integrity.
  • You have an affinity for and experience working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • You have a positive attitude, are good at putting things into perspective, and have a healthy sense of humor.
  • Excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
  • The working language within the organization is English. Therefore, a very good command of the English language, both spoken and written, is also required.
  • MBTI certification is preferred.
