As an HR Advisor at the Concertgebouw, you’ll be working at one of the world’s most beautiful concert halls, in a place where every day brings something new. Drawing on your knowledge and experience, you’ll be part of a dynamic and creative team that has developed a vision and plan to foster a diverse and inclusive corporate culture.
You will be working in the Human Resources department, where you and two colleagues will be jointly responsible for developing, refining, and implementing HR policies. In addition to all standard HR tasks, you will focus specifically on diversity and inclusion.
To achieve our diversity and inclusion goals, we have developed a D&I action plan with long-term objectives. Each year, we set specific annual D&I goals to measure our progress and ensure that we remain focused on our efforts. These annual goals help us track our progress and ensure that we are on track to achieve our long-term objectives.
The key to success lies in collaboration. We work with various D&I working groups, made up of colleagues from different levels within the organization. These working groups focus on specific themes linked to our annual goals. As an HR advisor, you play a crucial role in coordinating, driving, and supporting these working groups.
Who are you?
- You have gained experience in the HR field;
- You are a driven professional with a passion for diversity and inclusion, and you have a clear vision of how to promote D&I within an organization;
- You have experience developing and implementing policies and strategies;
- You have an understanding of different cultures and perspectives and are able to communicate and collaborate with people from various levels and backgrounds;
- You are articulate, approachable, and able to persuade others;
- You are practical, decisive, and proactive;
- You have experience with change management to lead and implement D&I change processes.
No two people are alike. The Concertgebouw strives to be an organization where everyone feels welcome and safe—where employees are free to be themselves and are given the space and recognition they need to contribute to our mission in their own way.
The Concertgebouw brings together a diverse audience and enriches their lives with a sublime musical experience.
That’s why we’re curious to find out who you are!
What will you be doing?
As an HR Advisor, you will contribute to the development, formulation, and updating of diverse and inclusive HR and organizational policies in line with agreed-upon (annual) objectives, and you will manage and carry out the department’s day-to-day operations. With your enthusiasm and dedication, you will provide direction to the various D&I working groups and ensure that actions are implemented and followed up on. In 2024, we will focus primarily on strengthening knowledge and understanding of diversity and inclusion through a training program and the implementation of an annual performance review system, while continuing to prioritize the processes surrounding employee onboarding, retention, and turnover.
Your main duties and responsibilities are:
- You will advise and support department heads and coordinators on recruitment and selection, training requests, and employment terms;
- You provide advice and input on change processes in the field of HR, specifically regarding diversity and inclusion, as outlined in the D&I (annual) goals;
- You will coordinate and support the various working groups, initiate plans, and monitor progress. In addition, you will carry out some of the projects yourself;
- You will report on the progress of the D&I initiatives to the management team and the rest of the organization;
- You will organize—in collaboration with external partners—a training program to enhance knowledge and understanding of diversity and inclusion;
- You will maintain the D&I page on the website and intranet and prepare various reports.
What do we offer?
- A salary in accordance with the Concertgebouw’s compensation system, ranging from €3,223 to €4,285 gross per month based on full-time employment (38 hours per week);
- You will be taking on a versatile, cross-functional role in a challenging industry;
- You can attend concerts in what is (in our humble opinion) the most beautiful concert hall in the Netherlands;
- You can take training courses to keep your knowledge up to date and further your career;
- You can work partly from home if you want to;
- You are accruing pension benefits;
- The opportunity to take yoga classes, join our running team, or sing in our staff choir;
- And last but not least: you’ll be working alongside dedicated, enthusiastic, and professional colleagues in a friendly team.
