You advise and coach managers in carrying out their HR responsibilities: recruitment and selection, sustainable employability, strategic workforce development, absenteeism, individual case studies, and legal status. You communicate openly and clearly in this regard. You participate in working and project groups on various challenging HR topics within the faculty and across the entire AUAS. You work closely with an HR staff member who is responsible for a large portion of the operational and administrative tasks.
You feel at home within a large and complex organization. You recognize and understand the dynamics within the organization and are attuned to the various interests at play. You are able to collaborate at various levels and actively respond to what is needed.
What are you bringing?
Where will you be working?
The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA) is the university of applied sciences of, for, and with Amsterdam—one of the largest universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands, deeply rooted in metropolitan Amsterdam. The city and surrounding region serve as a rich learning environment for us; an inspiring “laboratory” where students, faculty, lecturers, and external partners collaborate on a single mission: Creating Tomorrow Together.
The Faculty of Digital Media and Creative Industries (FDMCI) is one of the seven faculties at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. The faculty offers associate degree, bachelor’s, and master’s programs to approximately 10,500 students. Research is conducted by 8 research groups and 2 Centers of Expertise within the Knowledge Center. The faculty employs approximately 1,000 people (650 FTE). FDMCI aims to contribute to society, particularly within the metropolitan and international environment that Amsterdam offers. We do this by training students to become inspiring professionals in the fields of digital media and the creative sector.
You’ll be joining a fun and dedicated team consisting of 5 HR consultants, 4 HR associates, 1 HR data specialist, and the Head of HR. Although each team member has their own areas of focus, we collaborate closely with one another. We work hard, achieve results together, and make time for fun and professional development. In addition to individual professional development, we also set aside time several times a year for team-wide professional development on relevant topics.
Talent as a foundation, diversity as a strength
The AUAS aims to be an organization where everyone feels welcome, valued, and at home. As an employer, we believe that the more inclusive we are, the better we can perform as a knowledge institution of and for the city. We would like to see the diversity of backgrounds and perspectives that Amsterdam has to offer reflected in our university’s workforce. Regardless of your gender, age, (cultural) background, who you love, or what you believe: we warmly invite you to apply!
