Working at the Leprosy Foundation means working toward a world without leprosy—a world where leprosy no longer leaves people with severe physical and psychological consequences. Because international efforts to combat leprosy have proven effective. Effective through the successful treatment of leprosy patients. Effective through the preventive treatment of close contacts to prevent further transmission. Effective through education and training of healthcare workers and (former) leprosy patients, thereby eliminating the need for disabilities, discrimination, and exclusion.
A world without leprosy is thus a concrete and realistic goal. We aim to achieve this by 2040. This does, however, require (financial) resources and dedicated staff. The Leprosy Foundation has offices in Mozambique, India, Indonesia, Nepal, and Brazil, but is currently undergoing an organizational transition to become an international alliance of independent NGOs: the NLR Alliance. At the Amsterdam office, the Program and Medical Technology departments were merged this year to form the Programs, Research & Partnerships department. The merger reflects the close collaboration that already existed and the changing role of the Dutch office within the NLR Alliance. To lead this new department and ensure a smooth transition, we are immediately seeking an inspiring, strategic, and results-oriented:

About the Leprosy Foundation
The Leprosy Foundation is committed to putting an end to the age-old disease of leprosy once and for all. Every year, 200,000 new cases of leprosy are diagnosed, and millions of people continue to suffer the severe consequences of leprosy due to discrimination and exclusion. This is unnecessary, as further transmission can be prevented through timely detection and treatment. In addition to providing aid, the Leprosy Foundation funds scientific research to enable the global implementation of treatment methods proven to be effective.
The Leprosy Foundation combats leprosy through local offices in Mozambique, India, Indonesia, Nepal, and Brazil, as well as through international partners. Our international office in Amsterdam employs approximately 40 people, and our country offices have 200 staff members. The Leprosy Foundation is an ANBI with CBF accreditation and receives support from 45,000 donors and leading institutional donors, including the National Postcode Lottery. Internationally, we are known as NLR, until No Leprosy Remains. The Leprosy Foundation plays a leading role in the International Federation of Anti-Leprosy Organizations (ILEP).
