The Zaanstreek Secondary Education Partnership (SVZ) is urgently seeking a behavioral scientist forat least 3 days a week (0.6–1.0 FTE).
All young people have the right to a quality and appropriate education. For some students, this means theyneed extra support. At SVZ, we work together toprovidethe bestpossible educational environmentfor all studentsin the Zaan region.All secondary (special) education schools operated by school boards active in the Zaan region areaffiliatedwith SVZ. In addition, we collaborate with the Zaan region’s primary schools and thePrimary Education Partnership. We also work together with the municipalities of Zaanstad,Wormerland, and Oostzaan, as well as with various youth services organizations. We do this based on ourcore values: trust, optimism, and courage.Our shared goal is for our students to:
• attend a regular secondary school in the region
• receive the support they need to participate in education at an appropriate level and
• be on track to earn a degree and/or secure a stable position in the workforce.
SVZ’s Orthopedagogical Didactic Center (OPDC) contributes in various ways to providing appropriateand inclusive education for all students in the region. The goal isto reintegratethe studentinto mainstream secondary educationas quickly as possible. We achieve this through the district-wide servicesTime Out Placement, Customized Programs, Career Preparation Guidance in the Zaanstreek, and the Parent andYouth Support Center. The Knowledge and Expertise Center for Appropriate and Inclusive Education, whichsupportsschools in ourregion in designing appropriate and inclusive education, is also part of the OPDC.
As a behavioral scientist, you will contribute to “quality education for every young person” at schoolsaffiliated with SVZ, serving in both an advisory and an operational capacity. You will serve as the behavioral scientistfor several schools and participate in the school’s support team. Your responsibilities will include:
• As a "critical friend," you serve as an advisor and coach in strengthening basic support withinschools.
• Contributing ideas regarding group dynamics and providing services upon request (such as classroom observations,conducting training sessions and informational sessions, and performing psychodiagnostic assessments).
• In addition, you will serve as a liaison to partners in the education and healthcare sectors (who work with theschools) to facilitate the provision of additional support. What do you need?
• You have completed a master’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, or Educational Sciences.
• You hold a basic certification in (psycho)diagnostics.
• You have (some) work experience as a behavioral scientist in the education and/or healthcare sectors(for example, as a student counselor), and experience in educational psychology is a plus.
• You’re a natural at building relationships and have experience in establishing strong partnerships.
• You’re bold, aren’t afraid to ask tough questions, and take the initiative.
• A versatile role in a challenging and informal work environment thatoffers ample opportunities forprofessional growth.
• Youwill work closely with the behavioral scientists on the KEC team, with colleagues fromother district-wide services, and, of course, with colleagues at the affiliatedschools.
• The position is currently classified in pay scale 11 of the CAO VO (maximum €5,862 for a full-time position).The other terms of employment alsocomply with the CAO VO. For example, you will receive an end-of-year bonus of 8.33%and an annual individual choice budget of 90 hours (for a 1.0 FTE position), to be spent in time and/or money.
• Your hours and workdays are negotiable. You’ll start with a one-year contract, which we’ll convert toa permanent position if the collaboration goes well.
