
The Zaanstreek Secondary Education Partnership (SVZ) is seeking a behavioral scientist to start immediately for

The SVZ Orthopedagogical and Didactic Center (OPDC) provides support and education for students
who have difficulties with learning and/or social-emotional functioning, with the goal of helping the student as soon as
possibly reintegrate them into the mainstream secondary education system.
The OPCD offers various district-wide services for this purpose: Time Out Placement, Counseling
Vocational Preparation Zaanstreek, Customized Programs, and the Knowledge and Expertise Center for Appropriate and
inclusive education (KEC). The KEC is a team of behavioral scientists who support schools in the region

As a behavioral scientist, you contribute to “quality education for every young person” in schools that
be affiliated with SVZ in an advisory and executive capacity. You will be the behavioral scientist
for a number of schools, and you will be part of the school’s support team. Your responsibilities will include:
As a "critical friend," you serve as an advisor and coach in strengthening the basic support within
the schools.
Contributing ideas on group dynamics and providing services on request (such as classroom observations,
providing training and information sessions and conducting psychological assessments).
In addition, you serve as a liaison to partners in the education and healthcare sectors (who work for the
(schools) for the purpose of providing additional support.
You have completed a master’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, or Educational Sciences.
You have a basic certification in (psycho)diagnostics.
You have (some) work experience as a behavioral scientist in the education and/or healthcare sectors
(for example, as a student counselor) and experience in the field of education is a plus.
You’re a natural at building relationships and have experience establishing strong partnerships.

You will work closely with the behavioral scientists on the KEC team, as well as with colleagues from the
other district-wide services, and of course you’ll be working together with colleagues at the affiliated
schools.
The position is currently classified in pay grade 11 of the CAO VO (maximum €5,862 for a full-time position). Also

Your hours and workdays are negotiable. You will start with a one-year contract, which we will convert into
