About Cultuur Academy:

Cultuur Academy supports cultural professionals in Arnhem, Nijmegen, and the surrounding region by offering tailored programs. We believe that investing in the training and development of cultural professionals leads to a stronger sector. We focus on the non-artistic aspects of working in the cultural sector.

In addition, we are actively building a network where asking questions and sharing knowledge are the norm, with the goal of strengthening individuals, organizations, and the sector as a whole. Connecting and meeting others are at the heart of what we do. Cultuur Academy is the go-to place for cultural professionals in the Arnhem/Nijmegen region to pursue their professional development.

Here's what you'll be doing:

Cultuur Academy not only fosters professional development among cultural professionals, but also continues to evolve itself. To ensure we can continue doing this as effectively as possible, we need additional funding. That is why we are looking for a fundraiser who will work with us to identify the right partners—organizations, companies, and foundations—willing to contribute financially to this cause. We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic, proactive, and quick to spot opportunities. 

As a fundraiser, you will work closely with the program and marketing teams and report directly to the director. You know how to turn ideas into concrete actions and results. Developing and implementing strong fundraising initiatives is at the heart of this role. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct market research to assess the market for our organization and report the findings internally.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor a fundraising strategy.
  • Identify new funding sources and develop them into well-crafted applications.
  • Taking the initiative to reach out to potential donors and secure funding.
  • Build and maintain relationships with our financial partners, in collaboration with the director

About you_

  • You have knowledge of and experience with the cultural funding market: grants & funds and/or private funding.- If you have less experience in one of these areas, an expert is available to consult with.
  • You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Building and maintaining relationships comes naturally to you.
  • You see financial goals as a challenge, not as pressure. You get a sense of fulfillment from achieving them.
  • You’re quick to take the initiative and creative when it comes to coming up with plans and building connections. You enjoy getting out and about to discover new opportunities and meet people. 
  • Your requests are thoroughly substantiated.

What do you get in return?

  • A freelance assignment based on a Contract for Services. Duration and scope to be determined by mutual agreement: averaging between 1 and 1.5 days per week. There is a possibility of expansion and extension if the results of the market research warrant it. (Our freelance rates are based on the Collective Labor Agreement for Live Music Venues and Festivals and are in line with market rates.)
