Do you want to make an immediate impact within the City of Amsterdam? This is your chance! As a financial data analyst in the Leasehold and Allocation Department, you’ll have the opportunity to actively contribute to the financial management and monitoring of Amsterdam’s leasehold system. This dynamic and socially beneficial tool helps ensure a livable and affordable city. Within Leasehold & Issuance, we are committed to an inclusive and diverse work environment where you are challenged, given room for initiative, and encouraged to think strategically. You will work closely with professionals from various fields, whose expertise complements one another. Become part of an enthusiastic, motivated, and engaged team!
As a financial data analyst, you will examine and analyze financial and operational data to assess the department’s financial health. You will combine data from various sources, verify the accuracy of financial flows, and translate raw data into actionable management information. You will create reports to verify whether business processes are yielding the desired results. To do this, you use data analysis tools such as Power BI and Excel to identify financial trends, risks, deviations, and opportunities for improvement.
You will play a key role in developing the annual plan, Planning & Control deliverables, and the E&U department’s periodic reports. In doing so, you will assist in preparing financial forecasts, variances analyses, and multi-year insights. You will prepare management reports and advise the management of the Leasehold and Issuance department.
Together with your colleagues—two financial advisors—you will serve as a sounding board for (legal) policy advisors, the Business Administrators, the management of Leasehold & Issuance, and the Land and Development Executive Board on financial matters within the department. Drawing on your data-driven perspective and financial background, you will contribute ideas for improving processes and systems. You identify opportunities and do not let yourself be limited by conventional views and working methods. You quickly familiarize yourself with leasehold matters and effortlessly link this to the financial structure.
You are able to gain new financial insights. You are curious and ask questions to determine which approach or solution is most appropriate. You take advantage of opportunities to further develop and present financial insights derived from the data. You contribute to financial policy discussions and provide data-driven input to explore potential solutions. In doing so, you make a clear contribution to financially sound decisions, risk analyses, and process improvements.
There is room to grow in this role and expand it to include more strategic areas in collaboration with the two financial advisors.
