Management and the executive board provide advice on complex issues and large-scale capacity budgets, thereby contributing to future-proof business operations. As a financial advisor in Haarlem, you’ll have a direct impact on the policies of the province of North Holland. You will advise the board and management on the financial implications of policy proposals and developments. You will analyze, interpret, and present financial data in a way that makes it useful for day-to-day decision-making. In addition, you play a key role in preparing budgets, with a focus on internal costs and staffing capacity. Your advice has a direct impact on the financial direction and day-to-day operations within the province.
Your work is highly varied. One moment you’re discussing with managers how best to allocate the budget for the team. The next, you’re working independently on an analysis of budget and actual figures or on improving financial processes. In addition, you regularly provide advice on external hiring and translate capacity needs into the budget. Thanks to your broad network within the organization, you gain a unique behind-the-scenes look at the province and can develop into an authority in the field of capacity budgets.

Within the Group Affairs department, you’ll work in the Finance division, a dynamic and evolving environment. We’re increasingly raising the profile of the finance function and our proactive advisory role. This leads to interesting improvement projects where your input matters. You’ll work closely with a team of 10 financial advisors and have frequent contact with experts both within and outside the sector, such as financial controllers and HRM specialists. There is a strong focus on onboarding and professional growth. You’ll participate in weekly team meetings and in-depth sessions on professional topics and new developments. And your colleagues are always ready to support you and answer your questions.
