Combine your love of hip-hop and Black culture with your financial skills at the Hip-Hop House!
For the past 20 years, Het Hiphophuis has been the go-to place in Rotterdam for art, culture, and community within the hip-hop scene; it is a hub for experiencing and developing hip-hop and Black culture. We offer a wide-ranging program focused on developing skills in dance, DJing, and music, as well as creating a cultural context through talks, club nights, film, exhibitions, and community events. We work in a demand-driven manner and in collaboration with creatives, organizations, and communities. Everything we do is guided by the values of hip-hop. Because we believe that hip-hop makes the world stronger, more creative, and fairer.
We are in a period of growth and transformation, both in terms of our work and the scale at which we operate and make an impact. Our opportunities, scope, and ambitions have expanded. The values and outcomes we strive for remain the same. We work daily with a team of about 20 full-time staff members, supported by approximately 60 freelancers and volunteers, and dozens of creative partners with whom we collaborate. Our team consists of experienced, passionate, community-focused individuals—primarily Black and Brown people—with diverse artistic and professional backgrounds. Everyone within the organization shares responsibility for cultivating our work culture, in which radical equality is a core goal. We operate under the belief that we never stop learning; we develop ourselves in a positive yet critical manner and strive to apply intersectionality in our policies and working methods.
To continue growing as a cultural movement, we invest not only in craftsmanship and skills, but also in culture and the social context. That is why we are looking for a financial controller who shares these values.
