The current Financial Administrator is set to retire. We are therefore looking for an experienced Financial Administrator to join Bellingcat’s Operations Team. Your role will involve managing all aspects of the financial administration for Bellingcat’s three entities: a Dutch “Stichting” with ANBI status, the Dutch Bellingcat Production BV, and the Bellingcat Fund based in the United States.
The role’s main objectives are to ensure the timely, accurate, and consistent processing of financial data, and to organize and optimize financial administrative processes.

Bellingcat is an independent collective of international researchers who use open-source and social media investigations to probe conflicts, corruption, crimes, disinformation, extremist groups, and much, much more. They have received multiple awards for their research and publications that shed light on wrongdoing. Their community (which includes 35 staff members, numerous contributors, and hundreds of volunteers around the world) works in a unique field where technology, forensic research, journalism, and the advancement of justice and accountability converge. In the Netherlands, you may know them for their role in providing evidence analysis regarding the downing of flight MH17.

The salary range, including vacation pay, is between 50,000 and 65,000 EUR per year gross, depending on experience and track record.
Additional benefits include 25 (twenty-five) days of paid vacation per year, a salary guarantee (70%) in the event of prolonged illness, a pension plan, an annual budget for professional development, and annual paid sabbatical leave (the latter two are subject to eligibility).
This is a position with an initial one-year contract. The contract includes a three-month probationary period. Depending on performance, the contract may be extended or converted to a permanent contract at the one-year mark.
