Are you looking for a job where you can put your technical expertise to use and help create a great learning environment for 3,000 art college students?
The AHK Service Bureau is looking for a:
Facilities Coordinator for Housing
What will you be doing?
As a Facilities Coordinator for Real Estate, you are the essential link between day-to-day management, maintenance, and project management, and you serve as the “conscience” of the real estate portfolio. You monitor the quality of maintenance and sustainability projects and ensure the smooth execution of all projects. You combine technical acumen with strong communication skills, maintain an overview, and contribute ideas at the project management and operational levels. You play a proactive role in monitoring planning and costs, and you guide suppliers to meet agreed-upon commitments and quality standards (for both hard and soft services). In this role, you are sensitive and proactive; you take the initiative in proposing improvements and effectively implement them within the team.
You will take the initiative to propose improvements and assist the Technical Facility Manager with the management of AHK-wide facility contracts. You will be responsible for facility-related matters and serve as the point of contact for the leased properties at the Marineterrein in Amsterdam, including emergency response coordination and safety. You will proactively contribute ideas for solutions and help professionalize the department. You are jointly responsible for budget monitoring and invoice processing, and you support the team.
In addition, you manage the rental of 30 short-stay student rooms in Amsterdam, ensure timely availability, and prevent vacancies by coordinating with the academies.
Who are you?
You collaborate effectively with various disciplines and have a broad perspective. You thrive in a dynamic, facilities-oriented environment. You have a clear technical and facilities-oriented vision and focus, prioritizing goal- and results-oriented approaches while also maintaining a strong commitment to customer and service orientation. You are driven by passion, open to new developments, and curious. You approach challenges by focusing on possibilities, opportunities, and solutions. You are entrepreneurial, a team player, tactful, decisive, and pleasant to work with, and you have a no-nonsense attitude.
What do you bring to the table?
You have several years of experience in a similar role and hold a degree in a technical and/or facilities management program at the higher professional education (HBO) level. You communicate easily and clearly with internal and external stakeholders. You also have a good sense of humor. Naturally, you can work systematically and collaboratively on projects to achieve continuous improvements, thereby contributing to the further professionalization of maintenance and technical management. In addition, you have demonstrable experience in project management, as well as knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements and legal standards in the fields of construction and housing.
Who are we?
The Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK) has a unique portfolio of real estate, and we are proud of it. The AHK owns or leases a variety of educational buildings in the center of Amsterdam, most of which are owned outright. This includes both modern buildings with state-of-the-art classrooms, workshops, studios, and high-quality performance spaces, as well as (national) monuments and a few leased properties. The Housing and Management Department oversees the entire AHK real estate portfolio with a small team and works closely with the academies. The team consists of a Head of Housing, two (senior) project managers, a technical facility manager, and a housing facility coordinator.
We are currently looking for a sustainability coordinator to expand our team. As a department, our responsibilities include real estate strategies, project development, new construction, and sustainability, and we handle technical management and maintenance (including facilities) as well as contract management. Within the AHK, the support services are housed in the Service Bureau, which consists of the departments of Group Control, Central Administration and Procurement, IT & Automation, Housing and Management, HR, and Education, Research, and Communication.
What do we offer?
A challenging position in a dynamic team of colleagues, based in the heart of Amsterdam, focused on the learning and working environment for students and staff in a number of beautiful art education buildings.
We are offering a one-year contract with the possibility of permanent employment. The position is classified under scale 9 of the HBO collective bargaining agreement (Facilities Management Staff - C, max. €4,158.87 gross for full-time employment). Salary placement depends in part on education and experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including an 8.3% year-end bonus and a solid pension plan. If you join our team, we will require a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) upon your start date.
