As a Facilities Assistant, you will work alongside three other colleagues to perform a variety of facilities, technical, and logistical tasks for the museum. In doing so, you will ensure that our facilities operate at their best and help create a pleasant and safe work environment.
What will you be doing?
- You will identify and locate first-line trouble tickets in the buildings, facilities, and surrounding grounds. Handling trouble tickets is your responsibility;
- You will perform (periodic) inspections, repairs, and (technical) maintenance work;
- You will install and operate audiovisual equipment and lighting and sound systems, and provide (technical) support during renovations, relocations, and the setup and teardown of events;
- You install IT hardware for office workstations;
- You are willing to be available for evening openings, dinners, social gatherings, and other events, even outside of the museum’s regular hours.
Who are you?
- You are enthusiastic, flexible, proactive, and solution-oriented, with a hands-on approach; you are flexible regarding working hours and live in Haarlem or the immediate vicinity.
- You have a high school diploma (MBO 4) and relevant work experience in the fields of facilities management, logistics, and/or audiovisual services;
- You have a strong technical background;
- You are a good communicator with everyone and actively seek to collaborate with other departments;
- You have a good knowledge of computer systems, including the Microsoft Office suite;
- You can work independently, but you’re also a team player; a go-getter who is punctual and meticulous;
- You have a Class B driver's license and are preferably available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays;
- You are willing to respond to emergency alerts outside of the museum’s opening hours according to the on-call schedule. You will receive additional compensation for this.
We offer

- Salary between €18.22 and €22.29 gross per hour (scale 6 of the museum collective bargaining agreement, salary levelas of July 1, 2025; between€2,842.00 and €3,477.00 gross for a 36-hour workweek).
- 8% vacation pay and 3.4% year-end bonus.
- 28 days of vacation for full-time employees.
- Overtime pay in accordance with the Museum Collective Bargaining Agreement when you are required to work in the evening or on holidays.
- A one-year contract with the possibility of a permanent position upon satisfactory performance.
