Lonneke van Leth Dans is The Hague’s premier youth dance company. We connect with young audiences by incorporating important social themes into narrative dance performances. Whether the subject is personal struggle, social injustice, or complex human relationships, the emotions are conveyed powerfully yet accessibly on stage. Our performances make these topics open for discussion.
After watching a powerful performance, our dancers guide the students through a discussion to help them make sense of what they have seen. Students then discover the power of “modern” dance and physical expression by getting hands-on in interactive workshops.
We visit and collaborate with all types of schools—from elementary and vocational schools to special education and secondary schools—in the Haaglanden region and throughout the country. We visit schools to present performances, workshops, and educational programs. Our studio is located at Bink36 in The Hague.
The education coordinator oversees various educational projects within the company. You will develop educational policies and strategies in consultation with management. You will be responsible for the educational component of grant applications. In addition, you will work with the team of dance instructors to develop lesson plans and (digital) teaching materials. You will maintain frequent contact with schools, students, and other cultural institutions.
