Art and Economics (KE) is a Bachelor of Arts program at the Utrecht School of the Arts and is part of the Higher Education in Economics sector. An economics program under the umbrella of a school of the arts creates a distinctive combination and gives us a unique character of which we are proud.
KE students and professionals are passionate about art and culture. They develop and implement innovative solutions to support creators and organizations in the arts and culture sector, and help highlight and leverage the value of art. They use their creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, and organizational skills to help art flourish.
What will you be doing?
As a Financial Management instructor, you will teach, guide, and inspire first-year students to gain a firm grasp of the financial aspects of arts and culture organizations. You will help them understand key financial concepts, themes, and issues, and teach them how to interpret, understand, and establish the financial cycle of organizations. You will do this by:
- Work together with colleagues to effectively implement and further develop the existing course series, for example by incorporating relevant real-world case studies.
- Independently leading the financial management seminars, with a specific focus on the arts and culture sector.
- To guide students in conducting analyses and preparing budgets for creative and cultural projects.
- To play a role in the evaluation and assessment of students.
What are we looking for?
- Practical experience with financial processes, preferably in the arts and culture sector.
- Experience with higher professional education is a plus.
- Preferably holds a teaching certification for higher professional education and/or is qualified and competent to serve as an examiner.
- Available on Wednesday.

What do we offer?
For this position, we offer a salary in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement for higher professional education (CBA-HBO) as well as attractive benefits:
- The gross monthly salary for a full-time position ranges from a minimum of €4,174 to a maximum of €6,360 (pay scale 11), depending on education and experience, excluding an 8% vacation allowance and a year-end bonus (8.3%);
- This is a temporary position starting September 1, 2025, for one year, with the possibility of extension;
- The benefits package is excellent, including a generous leave policy, membership in the ABP pension fund, sports and recreational facilities, and a commuting allowance;
