We’re looking for two coordinators who are passionate about people, what drives them, and their stories. Do you enjoy motivating people to reach their full potential and guiding them in their development? And do you also have experience with editorial work or creative processes? If so, you might just be our new Storytelling Coordinator!
As a coordinator, you will be the direct supervisor of approximately 10 storytellers within the Stories department. Your primary responsibilities will include personnel management and coordinating work related to services and products for our various target audiences. The organization has grown significantly in recent years, which is why two new positions have now been created. This means there is room to shape the role in a way that suits you. Together with the department manager, you will be responsible for the performance review cycle, progress meetings, and absence policy, as well as for knowledge and competency development and for coordinating work, planning, and results.
You’ll also help develop cross-target-audience and cross-platform editorial workflows, foster collaboration across production teams, engage with diverse communities, and support the development of your colleagues’ audiovisual skills. Since we have openings for two new team members, we’d be happy to work with you to determine how to divide the various responsibilities.
Depending on your own ambitions and internal needs, the role also offers opportunities to take on substantive projects, such as serving as a project lead for one of the organization-wide programs in the areas of public programming, platform development, or diversity and inclusion.
Your first contract is a one-year contract. If we’re both satisfied, we’ll be happy to renew it. The gross monthly salary (on a full-time basis) ranges from a minimum of €3,434.20 to a maximum of €4,906.04 (scale 10 of the Image & Sound Collective Labor Agreement).
As much as we enjoy working at Beeld & Geluid, we also place a high value on free time. That’s why you get a generous 25 vacation days and 24 compensatory time-off days per year (on a full-time basis). Can’t use them all? Then you can also use your vacation days for other fun things, such as buying an (electric) bicycle or laptop, or taking that dream trip. We use a cafeteria model for this.
We have a hybrid work setup; do you prefer to work out or drop the kids off at school in the morning before heading to the office? Or do you have a set day each week when you work from home? We trust that you are best able to judge what is right for you and for us. That’s why you’ll receive an expense allowance for working from home and for commuting, depending on where you work!
In particular, we encourage people with a bicultural background and/or a physical or occupational disability to apply. As the department responsible for developing content and activities for our target audiences, we believe it is important to build an even more diverse team so that, together, we can fulfill Beeld & Geluid’s mission to enrich everyone’s life through media.
We are first and foremost a modern media institute with one of the largest and most advanced progressive archives in the world. We preserve various types of media, such as radio and television programs, video games, print media, political prints, podcasts, websites, and objects. We preserve our ever-growing media collection as heritage for eternity—that is what we do as reliable institution.
There's so much more to us! We're also a surprising, inspiring, creative, and accessible meeting place for everyone. From individual visitors to professional media creators; everyone is welcome and connecting is in our DNA. We organize countless public activities, debates, and lectures for all ages. We offer schools a wide range of workshops and support academic and journalistic research.
With some 400 dedicated colleagues—including, of course, our invaluable volunteers and interns—we contribute every day from our colorful building in Hilversum, our historic building in The Hague, and from our music hub in Rotterdam, we contribute to an open, free, inclusive, and media-literate society.
At Beeld & Geluid, we place a high value on diversity and inclusion, including in the composition of our teams. No matter what your beliefs are or who you’re attracted to, we believe it’s important that you contribute enthusiastically to our shared ambitions and goals.
