Would you like to help create an inspiring learning environment where students can grow into professional creators? Put your talents to work and join our team.
HKU is one of Europe’s largest educational institutions for art and media. In addition to education, HKU makes a significant investment in creative and artistic research at the intersection of learning, entrepreneurship, transdisciplinarity, technology, and creative processes.
HKU Research conducts a wide variety of research: artistic, design-based, and technological, yielding a diverse range of outcomes. Research leads not only to books and articles, but also, for example, to performances, visual maps, knowledge about the embodiment of Artificial Intelligence, or to developed frameworks, tools, and professional development modules that sustainably strengthen the research capabilities of students and faculty. A defining feature of our research outcomes is that the specific forms of knowledge developed by creators, artists, and (artistic) researchers cannot be captured in a single standard form. That is why there is a constant need for customization and experimentation.
As Knowledge Dissemination Coordinator, you will play a central role in consolidating and contributing to the development, dissemination, translation, and commercialization of our research results, both within and outside the academic context. In this role, you will work within the Education, Research, and Innovation (OOI) department, where you will collaborate with colleagues in the field of knowledge and research management and with our research unit. In terms of content, you will be guided by the lecturers.
You will guide how the knowledge generated by our current and future research is made visible, relevant, and usable. You will identify the various forms of knowledge within our artistic and creative research projects and develop appropriate, sometimes experimental, forms of publication and dissemination. In doing so, you will explore which platforms, formats, and audience approaches do justice to the nature of the research—from artistic outcomes to developed tools and methods—and ensure that these remain sustainably available, relevant, and usable for practice, education, and broader audiences. You will do this in close collaboration with our researchers.
We are looking for a knowledgeable and creative connector who can translate the diversity of research practices at HKU into relevant and innovative forms of knowledge sharing.
With us, you’ll work in an inspiring environment where creativity, technology, and innovation come together. You can be completely yourself here. The school year has dynamic peak periods when we all pitch in together, but this is balanced by a generous number of vacation days. You’ll receive a salary in accordance with the HBO collective bargaining agreement (Scale 11, max. €6,677.44) and attractive benefits, such as a year-end bonus, a museum year pass, and a bicycle plan.
We believe it is important that everyone feels welcome and valued. We believe that diversity enhances creativity and strive to bring together the diverse perspectives and experiences from society within our organization. We actively take steps to promote diversity and inclusion and collaborate with organizations that support us in this effort. In addition, we organize (internal) events and gatherings during Keti Koti, International Women’s Day, and participate in Pride Utrecht.
You can apply using the "Apply" button below. A cover letter is not required. However, we would like to receive your resume and answers to the questions below so that we can get a good idea of what you bring to the table. The application deadline for this position is April 2, 2026. Interviews will take place in week 16. A potential follow-up interview is scheduled for week 17. If you have any questions, please contact Nina van Huissteden, Acting Head of Research Strengthening and Development, at nina.vanhuissteden@hku.nl.
