The National Coordinator against Discrimination and Racism (NCDR) was launched at the end of 2021. The newly established NCDR Office is looking for enthusiastic and experienced colleagues who want to support the NCDR.
The coordinating (senior) advisor oversees multiple subprograms in the broad field of discrimination and racism. The advisor assesses existing policies, gathers input from society, and serves as a substantive discussion partner for the full range of stakeholders within their respective subprograms. You know how to inspire stakeholders to contribute to achieving the objectives of the National Program Against Discrimination and Racism. You will shape the NCDR’s strategic program based on signals from society and on in-depth knowledge of the field of discrimination and racism. Furthermore, you will contribute to the organization of roundtable discussions and conferences and oversee the substantive process related to your subprograms.
Job Requirements
You have a broad understanding of how to prevent and combat discrimination and racism. You know from experience which interventions are most effective. You also have a network in the social sector, including advocacy groups and other social actors working in the field of discrimination and racism. You are a fully-fledged discussion partner in the areas of anti-discrimination, diversity, and inclusion, and you possess natural authority to work with civil society actors and the government to strengthen the approach to combating discrimination and racism. You have an academic background and extensive experience (at least 5 years) in project management. Naturally, you have a strong affinity for anti-discrimination policy.
Terms of Employment
In addition to your salary, you will receive an Individual Choice Budget (ICB). The ICB consists of money (16.37% of your gross annual salary) and time. With the ICB, you can make choices that suit you and customize part of your employment benefits. For example, you can choose to have a portion of your monthly income paid out whenever you wish. You can also convert this budget into leave and vice versa, or spend it on tax-friendly purposes. The Dutch government is strongly committed to personal growth and career development and offers numerous opportunities for this. Secondary employment conditions include various study facilities, company fitness programs, full reimbursement of your public transportation costs for commuting, and partially paid parental leave.
Diversity is a key principle in the composition of the NCDR’s board. Different perspectives, backgrounds, and insights enhance the board’s collective intellectual capacity.
