Red Cross in the Netherlands 

In the Netherlands, the Red Cross helps people who lack or are at risk of lacking basic necessities. These include food and water, shelter, the ability to maintain personal hygiene, a safe and dignified place to live, information about loved ones, and access to appropriate medical and psychosocial care. When someone lacks one or more of these basic necessities, they are in need. When analyzing needs, in line with its mission, special attention is given to the most vulnerable. In addition, the Red Cross focuses on its auxiliary role, providing assistance that complements that of the government.  

Social services in the Netherlands are organized into 23 districts. For the Amsterdam Amstelland district, we are looking for a:

School Meal Assistance Coordinator

(32 hours per week)

Line manager: Operational team leader

Purpose of the position

Within the district, you are responsible for the School Meals project. This project ensures that children are provided with a meal at school. A full stomach is important for children. It gives them the energy they need to participate in school activities and is therefore one of the essential elements in a child’s development.

Core Tasks

• Coordinate and further expand the School Meals Project.
• Coordinating meetings and managing relationships with partner organizations, including schools and implementing partners.
• Evaluation and monitoring of the assistance.
• Budget management and financial administration.
• Stay in touch with the local government in the district.
• Coordination with the national School Meals project team.

Job Requirements:

• HBO-level academic and intellectual ability;
• Relevant work experience in the social sector, working with both operational and administrative staff, is preferred;
• Excellent social and communication skills. Able to motivate and inspire volunteers;
• A true networker who isn't afraid to implement changes;
• Be able to switch effectively between the operational and administrative levels;
• Coordinating skills.

We offer

A flexible and people-oriented work environment that offers plenty of room for initiative and professional growth. Salary is based on pay scale 10 of the NRK collective bargaining agreement, depending on education and experience (min. €3,295.57 and max. €4,133.07 gross per month for a full-time position of 32 hours per week, excluding a 7% year-end bonus).

Initially, this is a temporary contract.
