Would you like to help ensure that every child has access to appropriate and inclusive education close to home? As a consultant at PPO-NK, you’ll connect schools, parents, and partners, and help develop sustainable solutions for students who need extra support.

Meet the PPO-NK Partnership

Passend Primair Onderwijs Noord-Kennemerland is a partnership of 14 school boards and 102 primary and special education schools in Alkmaar, Bergen, Dijk en Waard, and Heiloo. Together with schools, parents, childcare providers, youth services, municipalities, and other partners, we work to provide appropriate and inclusive education in line with our social mission.

We are committed to inclusive education in which all students, regardless of their support needs, learn, grow, and participate fully together close to home. That is why we are working together to promote inclusive learning environments in every school, where student well-being is central, professionals collaborate in a spirit of trust, and we collectively take responsibility for providing appropriate education in every neighborhood and school community. Through close collaboration between education, healthcare, and local governments, we ensure that every child is seen, feels included, and receives the support needed to develop to their full potential.

How you make a difference

As a consultant for appropriate and inclusive education, you will serve as a liaison within the Passend Primair Onderwijs Noord-Kennemerland partnership. You will support schools, parents, and students with complex support needs and ensure that a multi-perspective approach is taken. You will guide schools in creating an inclusive learning environment where every child is given a voice and receives an education that aligns as closely as possible with the mainstream school environment.

You will serve in an independent, advisory, and facilitating role. You support teachers and internal counselors in analyzing support needs and designing appropriate educational and support arrangements. In doing so, you focus on what is needed in the classroom and within the team, so that support can be designed in a sustainable and appropriate manner. You facilitate discussions with parents and other stakeholders and ensure that different perspectives are carefully taken into account.

Within your area of responsibility, you will oversee support processes and collaborate with schools and partners in education, healthcare, and youth services. You will connect stakeholders, ensure consistency, and support schools in strengthening action-oriented and inclusive practices. In addition, you contribute to the further development of the partnership by translating insights from the field into knowledge sharing, quality improvement, and policy development. In everything you do, the child’s best interests are central, with the guiding principle that every child has a suitable place in education, as close to home as possible.
