We are looking for a Communications Officer (0.8 FTE/30 hours) to start on July 1, 2024
You will be working for theMovement Buildingdepartment. This means you will be handling communications for colleagues who are working to expand and strengthen the climate movement.
What will you be doing?
- You will be responsible for communicating with our members. This includes the biannual General Members' Meeting and communications for the Members' Panel.
- You will handle communications for group support, such as editing texts and creating web content and flyers.
- You will use your expertise to support our youth team, Milieudefensie Jong. You will review the content the team creates and ensure it aligns with our communication strategy.
- You’ll create all kinds of content and publish it on the Milieudefensie website, the “changemakers” website, newsletters, and social media channels.
- You will oversee the production of communication materials in both print and digital formats. This includes printed materials, videos, advertisements, and more.
- You will help our local groups grow and thrive.
What are you bringing?
- You’re both strategic and hands-on: you combine content creation with providing advice.
- You write flawless Dutch and have experience editing texts.
- You are an independent thinker; you are not afraid to be critical and are not afraid to give feedback on your colleagues’ ideas.
- You have proven work experience in a similar position.
- You're good at planning and keeping track of things.
It would be great if you have experience with:
- supervising volunteers (teams) and/or members;
- video and design projects.
Who do you work with?
You will be part of the Communications team. As a member of this team, you will provide support to the Movement Building department and to Milieudefensie Jong. You will work closely with colleagues from the various disciplines within this department, each of whom contributes their own expertise to the growth and sustainability of our movement.
You will also work with various colleagues from the Communications and Fundraising department.
You will report to the communications team coordinator.
What do we offer?
- A one-year contract with the option to extend.
- A salary ranging from €3,315 to €4,455 for full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience. At Milieudefensie, this is a 37.5-hour workweek.
- A temporary gross allowance of €100 for full-time employees (this allowance will remain in effect until the new job and pay structure is implemented).
- Your own laptop that you take home with you every day, so you can work from home as well.
- The ability to arrange your work hours flexibly.
- The option to exchange (Christian) holidays for other holidays.
