Work alongside your communications colleagues to give a face to police work 24/7. What a wonderful challenge that is as a communications advisor! Because while others take a step back, police officers take a step forward. Based in Rotterdam, you’ll help build trust in the police both within and outside our organization. In this way, you’ll contribute to a safer Netherlands.
At the largest communications agency in the country, you’ll work on internal and external communications and national campaigns covering a wide range of topics. These topics are all part of our strategic framework, “Building Trust.” This includes, for example, internal communications on care, vision, and leadership, as well as an external campaign on cybercrime or subversion. It also involves communications related to the “Police for Everyone” initiative, which is in the spotlight both within and outside the police force. In addition, as a communications advisor, you’ll play an active role in crisis communications.
So there’s no shortage of variety in your work. You’ll work on various projects both independently and as part of a team. In doing so, you’ll proactively take on the role of a consultant. You’ll define the objectives, the core message, and the intended results. You’ll translate the broad outlines of the assignment into a communication plan and oversee its execution from start to finish. The great thing is that all disciplines are represented within our communications agency. It’s a fantastic place to further develop your skills as a communications professional—and to share your vision and expertise with passionate colleagues. A few times a month, you’ll staff the Communications Service Desk and respond to current events while working in the newsroom.
The Communications Department of the Police Services Center is the police force’s internal communications agency. From advisors, editors, and copywriters to designers, investigative communications staff, photographers, and video producers: we have it all in-house. We support over 64,000 colleagues through internal and external communications to facilitate contact with one another and with the public, and to serve as ambassadors for the police. Together, we ensure that colleagues and the public can reach, follow, inform, and assist the police.
Complex communication challenges? Bring them on! As an energetic, all-around communications consultant, you thrive on making a difference through effective communication in a field that’s often under the microscope. You can quickly switch between different topics, easily identify the underlying issue, and spot opportunities to boost the impact of campaigns and communications. You never pass up opportunities to further develop your professional expertise.
