Six organizations have joined forces in the program: Voices for Just Climate Action (VCA), with WWF Netherlands (WWF NL) as the lead partner. VCA’s primary goal is to promote equitable climate solutions worldwide that deliver local benefits for both people and nature. In the seven countries where VCA is currently active, many people are already doing amazing work through local actions to combat the climate crisis. Through this project, we aim to unite these people and give them a voice on international stages.
Would you like to help promote climate justice by amplifying the voices of people around the world? If so, we at WWF NL are looking for you.
The “Voices for Just Climate Action” (VCA) program
The VCA program is implemented by an alliance led by four powerful civil society organizations from the Global South—Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA), Fundación Avina, Slum Dwellers International (SDI), and SouthSouthNorth (SSN)—and two global civil society organizations—Hivos and WWF. The VCA alliance brings people together globally and locally to advocate for just climate solutions that benefit both people and nature. Its goal is to strengthen civil society in Paraguay/Bolivia, Brazil, Tunisia, Kenya, Zambia, and Indonesia in co-creating and leading locally relevant, inclusive, and fundable climate solutions and influencing policy in favor of these solutions. We do this by connecting a variety of civil society organizations—representing women, youth, indigenous peoples, digital activists, and more. This project is part of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ five-year strategic partnership, “Power of Voices,” and runs until December 31, 2025.
The program is implemented in the countries mentioned above but also includes an international and a Dutch component.
