Cluster Assistant

What will you be doing? 

In this versatile role, you will support the Volunteer Cluster. This cluster consists of nine volunteer fire stations located within the Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region. You will work closely with the current cluster assistant, the cluster manager, two cluster advisors, and the station commanders.

You will be part of the team of cluster assistants within the operations department.

You are the go-to person for the wide range of questions that arise at the volunteer fire stations, and you play a connecting role: you always know how to put the right colleagues in touch with one another. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Administrative and secretarial support for colleagues, including digital record-keeping.
• Assisting the cluster manager with scheduling and organizing meetings.
• Taking meeting minutes, following up on action items, and monitoring processes.
• Keeping internal and external communication channels up to date, such as the intranet, the volunteer app, and social media.
• You are willing to work evenings from time to time.

Who are you?  

You see yourself as proactive, sociable, flexible, organized, and meticulous. You’re also able to switch easily between different systems and tasks.

You'll recognize yourself in this  

• Minimum MBO+ level of work and thinking.
• A completed secretarial or administrative degree.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with digital communication tools and social media.
• A valid driver's license is preferred.

Here's what you'll get from us

• Salary in pay grade 7 ranging from €2,644 to €3,818 per month, based on a 36-hour workweek.
• A job for 32–36 hours per week.
• An individual flexible spending allowance (IFSA) of 18.63% of the gross annual salary. This includes the year-end bonus and vacation pay.
• 187.2 hours of leave based on a 36-hour workweek, of which 43.2 are overtime hours. May 1 and May 5 are fixed days off (10.3 hours); these are included in this total.
• A one-year appointment, with the possibility of a permanent position.
• An attractive cycling plan to implement after your first appointment.
• A generous pension plan through ABP, 70% of which is paid by us.
• The option to work remotely with a work-from-home allowance of €3 per day.
• Monthly health insurance premium.
• Free access to all sports facilities and classes at the fire stations.

• The opportunity to take on an on-call position in addition to your regular job.

The team

The Amsterdam-Amstelland Fire Department has approximately 300 volunteer firefighters spread across seven volunteer fire stations and a fireboat.
