As a Commercial Business Analyst, you are an expert in developing information models and turning data into insights for marketing, financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting. You know how to effectively engage the organization in these processes, ensuring that our passengers are pleased with you because of the improved service, growth opportunities, and route network optimization that result from your analyses and recommendations.
Developing information models is right up your alley. You’re passionate about turning data into insights for marketing purposes, financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting, and you know better than anyone how to get the organization on board with this.
The Marketing & Transport Development department focuses on the consumer and business markets, with the goal of increasing passenger numbers and revenue. We achieve this by offering travel products to existing and new passengers and by developing and implementing an optimal route network. In the coming years, several key developments are on the horizon: improving GVB’s connections to pre- and post-transportation with appropriate offerings, expanding and better leveraging customer relationships, and leveraging technological advancements to unlock growth opportunities. To achieve these goals, the Marketing & Transport Development department is seeking a driven Business Analyst (Commercial).
For this position, we are looking for a Business Analyst who will work with passenger data. The focus will be on three key areas:
1) Data analysis: collecting, recording, and managing data related to passenger volume and passenger behavior. You understand public transportation users in Amsterdam and work closely with marketers and other commercial colleagues to analyze relevant data issues regarding travel behavior.
2) Financial reporting: You will work closely with business analyst colleagues on issues related to passenger growth and revenue. You will report on, forecast, and analyze these topics. You will provide advice on product offerings and pricing issues. These financial insights form the basis for strategic decisions, business development, business models, and transportation and marketing plans for GVB, as well as for national public transportation issues.
3) GVB is rapidly advancing in the field of data analytics. As the driving force/product owner behind a number of dashboards and databases, you will help further professionalize your field. In this role, you will serve as the link between the business and IT/Functional Management, representing the interests of Marketing and Transport Development within the Business Intelligence domain and across various Agile teams. In addition, you identify opportunities and translate them into relevant models and actionable insights.
In addition to developing information models, you know how to get the organization on board. You want to make an impact by expanding data and digitalization. In doing so, you advise the board and management and are involved in internal and external transportation-related relationships and networks. You oversee monitoring, identify areas for adjustment, and ensure coordination. You are an expert with strong communication skills who navigates diverse networks with ease. You are therefore familiar with agile working and sprints. In short, a versatile BI role with a lot of responsibility, freedom, and opportunities for growth!
