We are currently looking for anExperienced Business Controller in Amsterdam- 36 hours
This is your job:
This role is about more than just numbers! You’ll support Eigen Haard’s business units in achieving their (financial and non-financial) goals and, where necessary, help them improve their processes. Your analyses will highlight areas for improvement.
And:
- Together with your five immediate colleagues, you will focus on gaining and maintaining control over Eigen Haard’s (financial) business processes across various business units.You will primarily do this for the “I have a repair request” process and possibly one (or more) staff departments. Within this chain, the process is ensured from the initial customer contact through to the satisfactory resolution of the repair for the tenant.
- You will be responsible for preparingthe multi-year budget, drafting and analyzing financial reports, and developing financial risk management strategies, on which you will advise the executive board and management. This also includesoverseeing and monitoring the various (divisional) budgets;
- Youwill conduct variousbusiness economic analyses, assess the impact of policy and/or legislative changes by running through different scenarios, and contribute to the development of financial assessment frameworks;
- Youdive deep into large datasets, conducting ad hoc analyses while also contributing insights that either support policy proposals or indicate the need to adjust existing policies. You know how to engage others in your findings or proposed actions.
- Youwill conduct spot checks on various audit activities and evaluate the results. In addition, you will communicate your findings to both your department and the teams involved in these audits. You may alsobe asked to consult with and report to supply chain partners;
- In your role as a business controller, you willperform both auditing and advisory functions. You will have a significant influence on final decisions. If you take the initiative, this position will give you the opportunity to grow professionally and make a major contribution to Eigen Haard’s financial policy;

You will be part of the Business & Project Control department, a team with an open culture where there’s plenty of laughter, and where you’ll generally work independently while colleagues are always ready to help one another. Your team consists of five ambitious, helpful Business Controllers, and the Project Control department has six members.
Why you’re the right fit for us:
- You have a college or university level of work and thinking;
- You have knowledge of business economics;
- You have six years of relevant work experience as a business controller;
- You also have knowledge of:
- external reporting requirements, tax laws, and other relevant regulations;
- project-based work;
- the workings of the public housing system, or are willing to learn more about it;
- You already have experience with specific processes, systems, procedures, and methods used in financial control;
- You are a strong and persuasive advisor. You weigh the facts and consider alternatives, and provide well-reasoned advice—whether solicited or unsolicited;
- You have strong communication and analytical skills, and are able to express yourself clearly and tactfully and write recommendations;
- You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are highly sensitive, objective, independent in your judgment, determined, precise, and straightforward.
- PLEASE NOTE: A good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written, is important for effective collaboration with colleagues and external parties.

- In addition to a salary ranging from a minimum of €4,633 to a maximum of €6,258 gross per month based on a 36-hour workweek (Scale J of the Housing Services Collective Agreement), you will also receive a fixed year-end bonus of 6%
