As a (Business) Controller, you are responsible for implementing financial policies and providing reliable information to management. You also advise management on the (financial) implementation of their policies and on improving and structuring business processes. In addition, you monitor compliance with laws and regulations to prevent (financial) risks to the organization. The Business Controller reports to the Business Control Team Leader; in your day-to-day work, you will also be active within and across the departments.
What will you be doing?
- Support managers and department heads in preparing the (multi-year) budget for their respective areas of responsibility and integrate these budgets into the NOC*NSF budget
- Monitoring and supporting (grant and project) budgets, identifying potential overruns and/or underspending, and advising on recommended budget adjustments, as well as options for correction and compensation
- Advising on, reviewing, and monitoring the implementation of financial (including tax and treasury) policies
- Provide advice on the design of new business processes
- Help prepare and analyze quarterly reports and forecasts in collaboration with the manager(s) and department heads
- Monitoring compliance with laws and regulations and, in that capacity, identifying risks
- Helping to develop and implement formats, (calculation) models, key performance indicators, and management metrics
We offer
- Initially, a one-year temporary appointment

- A completed degree in business administration at the university level
- At least 3 years of work experience as a (Business) Controller in a complex (project) environment

Within Operations, the Control Team is responsible for managing risks with the aim of obtaining reasonable assurance regarding the achievement of objectives in the areas of: ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes, providing reliable (financial) information, and compliance with laws and regulations. The department also handles the internal coordination of the work organization for the Sports Resource Allocation process, the process through which financial resources are allocated within the sports sector.
