As a Business Controller at Arkin, you’ll support management in financial decision-making and contribute to sound business operations. You’ll analyze financial data, advise on complex financial issues, and translate insights into clear recommendations. What will you be doing?

As a Business Controller, you serve as a key strategic partner to management and work closely with senior leadership and other stakeholders. You analyze financial data, translate complex analyses into actionable recommendations, and support strategic and tactical decision-making. Your responsibilities include:

  • Project control is a key component of this role: you identify financial risks and develop risk matrices;
  • Conducting business analyses and preparing reports for the executive board and management;
  • Monitoring actual financial performance against the budget;
  • Providing advice on the financial feasibility of strategic plans and preparing business cases and decision memos;
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of internal processes, records, and information flows.

We offer you:

  • Terms of employment in accordance with the GGZ Collective Bargaining Agreement, pay scale 60 or 65, depending on education and/or work experience (min. €4,412 and max. €6,716 gross based on a 36-hour workweek);
  • This is a 36-hour-per-week position, with the intention of converting it to a permanent position if the candidate performs well;
  • An end-of-year bonus of 8.33% and 8.33% vacation pay;
  • You are building up a solid retirement pension with the Healthcare & Welfare Pension Fund.

You can easily switch between focusing on details and maintaining the big picture, remain calm and clear-headed in complex situations, and know how to build support across different levels of the organization. You are proactive, able to handle stress, and have an eye for both numbers and people.

We would also be delighted to receive your application if you:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accountancy, business economics, business administration, or healthcare management;
  • Demonstrable work experience as a business controller;
  • Understanding of complex financing flows and business economic analyses;
  • Experience with budgeting, reporting, and business cases;
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, internal controls, and risk management;
  • Experience in healthcare or mental health care is preferred, but not required.

The Planning & Control (P&C) department is part of the Finance and Control unit at Arkin. Together with other departments such as Business Intelligence, Sales, and Financial Administration, P&C handles financial planning and control. They report to various departments and to the Board of Directors, prepare budgets, conduct analyses, and provide advice. P&C assists in making forecasts, identifying trends, and developing future plans. The reports and proposals they produce are crucial to achieving our goals, both strategic and operational.

Our office is located on Klaprozenweg in Amsterdam North, at the NDSM. Arkin is easily accessible by public transportation.
