Unieboek | Het Spectrum B.V. is one of the largest general-interest book publishers in the Dutch-speaking world. The publisher is known for successful non-fiction titles, including lifestyle, culinary, psychology and spirituality, history, biographies, popular science, and journalism. In addition, with its imprints Van Holkema & Warendorf, Van Goor, and Best of YA, the publisher is a major player in children’s and young adult books. Spectrum Fictie, Capitool (travel guides), Paper Life (workbooks and journals), Forte (cooking, creative, and green), Winkler Prins (online encyclopedia), and Prisma (language training and products) are also part of Unieboek | Het Spectrum.

Unieboek | Het Spectrum Publishing is part of LannooMeulenhoff B.V. and is located on the^14th and^15th floors of the Mondriaan Tower in Amsterdam. It is an inspiring, creative environment with a fantastic view of the entire city.

Our publishing house is home to a small, enthusiastic team that works on books in the fields of creative hobbies, cooking, and gardening. Without exception, all our books are practical and inspiring in nature. Well-known authors include Laura Kieft of Laura’s Bakery, Christel Krukkert, Modeste Herwig, and many others. In addition to our own publications, we also publish translations in the fields of crocheting, knitting, woodworking, vegetable gardening, baking, cooking, and other themes.

Staff Editor

(24–32 hours)

What will you be doing?

Preparing copy for production
Handling communication between authors, translators, external editors, proofreaders, designers, and Unieboek | Het Spectrum
Monitoring the production process
Maintaining and entering data in PAC and CMS
Developing the editorial calendar
Monitoring the schedule
Overseeing the production of the video footage

Profile and Skills

HBO-level academic and cognitive abilities
Excellent command of the Dutch language
Proficiency in English
An affinity for Forte’s long-distance racing courses
Strong graphic design skills
Strong communication skills
Preferably extensive work experience in a similar position
