
About BRUIS
BRUIS is a community-driven initiative by Longfonds and MIND, in collaboration with residents, partners, and existing neighborhood programs. In The Hague Southwest, a neighborhood undergoing change, we are working with residents to create lively play and gathering spaces, strengthen the local network, and develop activities that encourage more physical activity, social interaction, and greater resilience.
With support from the National Postcode Lottery, we are working over the next 10 years to create a lasting impact in Southwest Amsterdam and to serve as a model for other neighborhoods across the Netherlands.

What will you be doing?
Over the next ten years, BRUIS will be active in the neighborhood, and you can be part of it from the very beginning! We are currently in the project’s launch phase: a time when we’re building, experimenting, and shaping many things. Your commitment and ideas are essential to this process.
As a BRUIS Neighborhood Coordinator, you’ll be the familiar face in the neighborhood. You’ll connect residents, professionals, and partners, and turn the BRUIS Pop-up into a lively and welcoming community space. Residents will know where to find you, whether they want to share an idea, organize an activity, or just have a friendly chat. You’ll listen, identify needs, and bring people and initiatives together.
Specifically, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, such as:
You will support and work closely with the BRUIS Project Manager and the Communications Coordinator. Together, you will ensure that residents feel seen, heard, and involved in their neighborhood. Thanks to your dedication, BRUIS will grow into the vibrant heart of the neighborhood—a place where connection, collaboration, and fun take center stage.

The procedure
You can submit your response by January 29, 2026. Based on your response, we will determine whether to schedule an introductory meeting. We will notify everyone by the first week of February at the latest. The initial meeting will take place at the Longfonds office. This will occur in February.
