Within the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (UNL), Dutch universities collaborate, coordinate their efforts, and advocate for their interests in the political arena and through the media. The UNL office identifies key issues, sets the agenda, and supports the association and its members. UNL also serves as the employers’ association for the 14 Dutch universities. Universiteiten van Nederland is currently seeking a full-time (part-time negotiable): HR Policy Officer for Recognition & Appreciation
The position
Through the following responsibilities, you will help shape UNL into a modern, responsive umbrella organization and a modern employers’ association: You will be part of a small HR team responsible for maintaining and updating the sector-wide collective bargaining agreement, maintaining contact with partners and implementing bodies, and supporting the universities’ joint HR consultations from the UNL office. In addition, you will contribute to the multi-year “Recognize & Value” program coordinated by the UNL office.
The Recognition & Appreciation program was launched in 2020 to achieve the goals outlined in the position paper “Room for Everyone’s Talent.” Our aim is to modernize the system of recognition and appreciation in academia across the areas of education, research, impact, leadership, and patient care (at UMCs). The various Recognition and Appreciation committees are enthusiastically working to drive the intended cultural change at the institutional level. Experimenting, inspiring, co-creating, sharing best practices, and learning from one another are central to the joint program.
As an HR Policy Officer, you will be responsible for a number of policy-related issues concerning employment conditions that are important to UNL. These include the following policy areas:

A one-year contract for 38 hours per week (part-time hours negotiable). Subject to satisfactory performance, this will be converted to a permanent position. The Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities applies. The salary falls under pay scale 11 or 12 (depending on experience) of the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities.
The office is located in the center of The Hague. We operate using a modern and flexible office concept.
