We are looking for a colleague to join the Digital Economy (DE) division.
DE stands for a society in which digitalization optimally contributes to economic and social opportunities for everyone. Digitalization is transforming our society at a rapid pace. It is a key driver of growth, innovation, and new economic activity, and is essential if we are to address the social challenges of our time. It also presents us with challenges. Our management team therefore develops policies and legislation at the heart of this digital transformation. The position relates to the policy areas of digital infrastructure on the one hand and innovation on the other.
Messaging, mobile payments, hybrid work, streaming, and gaming—the digital infrastructure that makes all this possible is inextricably linked to our daily lives. The Netherlands has a world-class digital infrastructure. This strong position cannot be taken for granted. It requires effective collaboration between the private sector and the government to stay ahead of the curve.
Are you committed to ensuring that our society remains well-connected digitally in the future? Do you enjoy staying up to date on the latest technological and market developments in this field? Are you not put off by the technical or legal nitty-gritty involved or by interacting with a wide range of stakeholders? Then this position is perfect for you!
How do we ensure a smooth rollout of fiber optics and 5G? How can we ensure that the remaining addresses in rural areas also get high-speed internet? How do we oversee a careful phase-out of 2G and 3G in the coming years? How do we keep our national broadband map as complete and user-friendly as possible? How do we translate the European rules we’ve agreed upon, such as the recent Gigabit Infrastructure Act, into (often challenging) practice? You’ll work on these challenging issues together with your colleagues on the team.
Would you like to read more about the topics you’ll be working on? Then check out the
Digital Economy Strategy | Report | Rijksoverheid.nl and the recently published "State of Digital Infrastructure" report; be sure to read the sections titled "Internet for Everyone" and "Ensuring Effective Local Integration of Digital Infrastructure."
If you don’t fully meet the job requirements but feel that the position is a good fit for you and believe you can make a positive contribution, please feel free to send us a cover letter.
The pay grade will be determined based on knowledge and experience.
