Your role as a Policy Officer
As a Policy Officer at the KBb, you will play a central role in supporting and developing our trade association. You will work in collaboration with the board and management on strategic policy initiatives and translate research insights into concrete recommendations and policy guidelines for our members. You will also work closely with the Technical Committee on Consumer Research (TCC), where you will gain insights into the buying, borrowing, and reading habits of Dutch consumers and identify trends within the book market.
What will you be doing?
- Developing and implementing policies: You will develop and implement policies that meet the needs of our members and reflect the dynamics of the book market.
- Advising and supporting members: You answer questions and provide policy and strategic support.
- Carrying out projects as part of a team: You will work with colleagues and external partners on projects that strengthen the book industry.
- Advocacy: You will represent the KBb in national and, at times, European policy initiatives, advocating for the interests of our members. This involves working closely with stakeholders, taking their diverse interests into account, and having experience working in collaborative settings.
What are you bringing?
- College or university level of work and thinking, with analytical skills and a desire to learn.
- Experience in policy and project-related roles within a professional (advocacy) organization.
- Experience with consumer research or an interest in research findings.
- A pragmatic approach and a balanced combination of teamwork and independent initiative.
- Political and organizational sensitivity.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Relevant work experience and an interest in the book industry.
- A keen eye for the interests of various stakeholders and experience working in collaborative environments.
