Do you have experience supporting companies in the area of corporate social responsibility and are you looking for a new challenge? Then check out this job opening at the Social and Economic Council!
Since 2016, the SER has been facilitating agreements on International Corporate Social Responsibility (ICSR) across various sectors. In May 2023, the covenant for the renewable energy sector was launched. As a policy officer, you will work with three colleagues to ensure the implementation of the covenant. In this covenant, we collaborate with various international stakeholders: companies, industry associations, trade unions, NGOs, research institutions, and the government. The covenant aims to make the renewable energy sector more sustainable across the entire production chain: from the extraction of raw materials to the recycling of solar panels or wind turbines. This involves examining human rights, working conditions, and the environment in the extraction and production of renewable energy technologies. To achieve this, the various stakeholders work together, and as a policy officer, you serve as the linchpin that brings them together and helps advance the mission of making the sector more sustainable.
This is a position for 32 to 38 hours per week, initially for one year. Start date: as soon as possible. The salary ranges from a minimum of €4,505 to a maximum of €5,912 gross per month for full-time employment. You can find theother terms and conditions of employment here.
The Social and Economic Council (SER) advises the government and parliament on the broad outlines of socio-economic policy. The SER also facilitates agreements and covenants and performs administrative tasks. The Council brings together independent members appointed by the Crown, employers, and employees. Approximately 170 staff members work in the SER’s administrative organization.
SER staff work in a particularly dynamic environment. They operate in close proximity to the political sphere, collaborating with a wide range of civil society organizations that often have divergent interests. Policy analysts work in project teams to address current socioeconomic issues. The organization has an informal atmosphere and fosters a great deal of personal interaction.
We believe that diversity within our organization enhances the quality and support for our work. We strive to be an organization where everyone can be themselves and is given the opportunity to grow. We welcome colleagues with disabilities. Depending on the nature of the disability, accommodations may be made in the role.
You will be working in the Globalization and Earning Power program. The program consists of 15 policy officers working on consumer rights, European socioeconomic policy, and international corporate social responsibility.
