Assistant Financial Controller

What are you going to do?

You will be working at the Shared Service Center Administrations, the financial heart of the organization. With its various teams, the department is responsible for membership dues administration, HR and payroll administration, and financial and project administration for the unions affiliated with the CNV, the Trade Union Confederation, and a number of limited liability companies and foundations. We are looking for an Assistant Financial Controller for the Control team. In this role, you will work closely with the financial and project controllers, the Finance team, the business controllers, and the project leaders of the affiliated CNV unions.

The Assistant Financial Controller’s responsibilities are diverse; no two days are the same in this challenging and varied role.

• Provide support in applying for, setting up, organizing, and reporting on (grant) projects
• Translating the information needs of the client and the grant provider into management reports
• Preparing and overseeing project audits
• Monitoring project budgets
• Assistance in preparing the financial statements and the balance sheet documentation
• Preparation of periodic reports
• Audit procedures

In addition, it is important that you:

• Have a demonstrable associate's degree
• Have at least 2 years of work experience in a similar position
• Proficient in Dutch, both written and spoken.
• Have excellent knowledge of Excel
• You can perform well under time pressure and handle constantly changing priorities effectively
• Have a hands-on approach
