Are you a nurse with a passion for addiction care? Do you enjoy the fact that no two days are the same? And do you like working with colleagues who bring a ray of sunshine to the workplace every day? If so, we’d love to meet you as a new member of the Jellinek Outreach Teams in Amsterdam!
Business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
As an Outpatient Nurse, you will have a very varied role working with both the medical department and the Addiction Intensive Team (VIT).
In the medical department, you are responsible for dispensing medication, including methadone, to clients of the JOT, as well as FACT, ACT, and Forensic FACT. You serve as a co-therapist for all these clients. At the medical department, you often see clients more frequently than their primary therapists. This allows you to sometimes make a difference in a person’s treatment by fulfilling a preventive and monitoring role. Additionally, you play an important role in the outpatient detoxification process, including administering urine tests and ECGs. You are involved in many consultations with other disciplines and managers.
“You’re responsible for a lot of different things. You help shape the big picture of how we organize care for the JOT. That’s really fun to do.”
- Reimar, Nursing Coordinator, JOT Medical Services
At the VIT, you will work alongside the addiction specialist to provide crisis care for clients who have reached a crisis point due to their substance abuse. Following coordination meetings, you will conduct home visits, develop treatment plans, and prepare reports. You will conduct outpatient home detoxes. You will also be in frequent contact with care partners and family members to resolve the crisis and encourage the individual to seek care. You will also handle office duties, during which you will assist clients, family members, and care partners with all kinds of questions regarding addiction care.
You are someone who takes a proactive and supportive approach when interacting with clients and their immediate family members. You are committed to collaboration within the team and with the entire network of institutions. You also have staying power and decisiveness, maintain a clear overview, and are able to handle crises effectively.
