For more than 25 years, Passionate Bulkboek has been dedicated to promoting reading among young people throughout the Netherlands. We do this through educational programs such as Er Was Eens, the Jonge Jury, De Inktaap, and the Dag van de Literatuur. For secondary and vocational school teachers, we offer the biennial symposium “Dag van het Literatuuronderwijs,” tailored advice, and inspirational workshops on how to make the joy of reading a regular part of the curriculum. With a team of 12 employees, we operate out of a historic building just a stone’s throw from Rotterdam Central Station. Our staff are professional, enterprising, and results-oriented.
Your primary objective is to actively and expertly support teachers across the various academic departments of the Albeda and Zadkine school networks in enriching their lessons with programs that foster a love of reading among their students.
As a reading promotion advisor for vocational education (MBO), you are dedicated to helping young people and are determined to convey to them the importance of reading. You are familiar with the issues facing urban communities and are aware of the challenges they present. You are a natural networker. In this role, you take on various responsibilities, ranging from a results-oriented approach toward program managers and administrators to a hands-on and supportive role with teachers. To convince all levels within these complex school systems, you will deliver presentations, training sessions, and coaching. You will also support and assist Dutch and civics teachers in implementing reading promotion activities, for example by taking over lessons or student guidance.
You have a genuine interest in everything related to reading motivation and literacy education covered in the media, and you know how to apply this knowledge to position Passionate Bulkboek and its programs. You identify opportunities and know how to turn them into concrete actions.
In this role, you will be on the road regularly. At the office, you will work on both back-office and CRM tasks, as well as translating real-world school experiences into the implementation and/or further development of our program and training offerings.
Please send an email with your resume and cover letter to Renée den Breems at renee@passionatebulkboek.nl by December 7, 2023. Interviews will be held on Wednesday, December 13.
