Would you like to help make the Amsterdam-Amstelland region safer and gain a deeper understanding of the risks involved? Would you like to help build a strong network of partners with whom we collaborate during a crisis and in preparing for one? Do you understand how important strong relationships are in a network focused on safety, collaboration, and crisis management? And have you always dreamed of holding an on-call position in a crisis response organization? Then you might just be the new colleague we’re looking for!
Extreme weather, geopolitical threats, major fires, power outages, resilience, or a terrorist attack. These are just a few of the issues the Crisis Management sector deals with. In your role as a Crisis Management Advisor with a focus on Network Management and Relationship Management, you serve as the connector and link between our organization and the crisis partners who may be involved in potential crisis situations. These include the police, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Defense, the Municipal Health Service (GGD), energy and telecom companies, water boards, and civil society organizations. You function as an expert in network management for crisis partners. You maintain and strengthen relationships within this network and ensure a solid foundation for smooth collaboration—even when things get tense. In doing so, you are able to set up an effective system for relationship management and keep it up to date together with colleagues. You know who to call, who to involve, how to bring people together, and how to properly document and follow up on agreements made. You ensure that our network is active, functional, and ready for action when needed.
Your main responsibilities will be:
First and foremost, you’re a great colleague who’s a pleasure to work with.
You have strong interpersonal skills, are a natural connector, and know how to motivate people. You understand the landscape of the safety region or can quickly familiarize yourself with it. You thrive in a fast-paced environment. You are flexible and customer-focused, and you don’t let setbacks hold you back. In addition, you possess excellent communication skills. You work well independently, yet you also thrive in a team setting, where you act as a connector, building bridges between different disciplines and organizations.
In addition to your regular work, you would enjoy taking on a (paid) on-call role within the crisis response organization. However, taking on an on-call role means you must be able to reach the Amsterdam-Amstelland safety region within an hour.
Within our safety region, six municipalities, the fire department, medical services, the police, the public prosecutor’s office, and other public and private (safety) partners work together. We manage risks, provide fire and rescue services, and prepare for crises. Would you like to learn more about what we stand for as an organization? Then visit our website or LinkedIn.
