Do you have a way with words and write compelling policy recommendations? Does your heart skip a beat when you’re developing innovative ways to engage tenant organizations? And are you eager to explore the social housing sector? Then we’re looking for you!
The !WOON Foundation works with residents (and resident organizations) to create pleasant, well-maintained, and affordable homes for everyone, from young to old. To make this possible, !WOON is seeking a member for its “Resident Influence” team
Advisor to Residents' Organizations
24–36 hours per weekWhat will you be doing?
As an advisor to tenant organizations, you will serve as the point of contact for at least two tenant organizations. A tenant organization represents the interests of tenants and resident committees within a single housing authority. The volunteers who run the tenants’ organization aim to improve the housing authority’s policies and services. To that end, they provide both solicited and unsolicited advice to the housing authority.
You will support the board of the tenants’ organization with research, policy advice, and organizational development. You will assist the board in developing innovative participation concepts to engage residents’ committees and individual tenants with the tenants’ organization and to increase support for its initiatives. You act as a liaison between board members, between the tenants’ organization and its members, and between the tenants’ organization and the housing authority, at both the operational and executive levels. It’s a wonderful role that ensures better service for tenants and their tenants’ organizations!
Who are we looking for?
We are primarily looking for someone who is energetic and eager to get started, with the talent and experience to support volunteer organizations. Someone with natural leadership skills, who always thinks a few steps ahead and has a knack for diplomacy. In addition to a college or university level of work and thinking, you have broad knowledge of resident participation, public housing, regulations, and metropolitan challenges (or the ability to quickly master these topics). You are able to build connections and innovate, and you enjoy maintaining your internal and external networks. Your motivation stems from your passion and enthusiasm for residents and volunteers; this enables you to write policy recommendations with ease and craft compelling messages for your constituents. Finally, are you also willing to work an average of two evenings per week and travel within the metropolitan region? If so, we can’t wait to meet you!
What do we offer?
An enjoyable, varied role in a fantastic team that is eager to share their energy and expertise with you. Excellent training and development opportunities, a flexible spending account of at least 18.5% of your salary that you can use as you wish, and a personal career development budget of 1.5% of your monthly salary. A one-year contract with the prospect of a permanent position. In addition, we offer a salary ranging from a minimum of €3,277 to a maximum of €4,830 gross per month for a full-time position (scale 10 of the Social Work Collective Labor Agreement). As of January 1, 2023, this salary will be increased by a general 2% raise. Travel allowance if you live more than 10 km from work and a good pension plan.
