Do you want to help make the Netherlands a better place?

Do you find it rewarding to contribute to a well-functioning and inclusive labor market? Are you proactive and skilled at providing advice? We are looking for a consultant with experience in the field. You have a caring nature, a creative mind, and a people-oriented personality. Does this sound like you? Then apply for the position of “Labor Market Consultant” at the CAOP Foundation!

About SBCM

As a consultant, you will primarily carry out work for SBCM, the A&O Fund and knowledge center for social employment. Our mission is to help provide suitable, paid, and sustainable employment for people in vulnerable positions in the labor market. We do this by supporting development companies and the professionals who assist them. We focus on themes such as sustainable employability, lifelong learning and development, suitable work, and healthy and safe working conditions. Due to the Participation Act and the Job Agreement, our field of work is undergoing significant changes. The tight labor market is not yet being sufficiently utilized for people with employment challenges, but it also offers opportunities, especially now. Our partner in this effort is Cedris, the trade association for social development companies in the Netherlands. Our board is composed of social partners: VNG, Cedris, FNV, and CNV.

What will you be doing?

You will help improve the standing of people with employment challenges. As an advisor, you will be responsible for projects and topics such as on-the-job training, suitable employment, employee participation in the sector, and coordinating grant programs. You will organize conferences for professionals, partners, and employee representatives, and contribute to the long-term employability of employees covered by the SW and Aan de slag collective bargaining agreements. You will take the lead on new initiatives and develop practical knowledge products for the operational practices of social work companies. These include guides, toolkits, meetings, action research, and training sessions. You will draft project proposals for the SBCM board or grant providers and collaborate with employers and professionals in the sector. Within the team of advisors, we collaborate collegially on various themes; you serve as sparring partners and provide mutual support.

What do we expect from you?

  • You have a college or university-level education and way of thinking, with proven experience in consulting, knowledge development, and project management.
  • You have a strong affinity for people who need extra support to find employment, preferably in social enterprises. Experience in this field and in the social sector is a plus.
  • You have knowledge of various labor market topics, such as occupational health and safety, sustainable employability, learning and development, and employee participation.
  • Experience with employer and/or employee organizations is a plus.
  • You have knowledge of (European) grant programs and the associated reporting requirements.
  • You have a keen sense of administrative sensitivity.
  • You have strong communication skills, both verbal and written. You understand and speak the language of the industry.
  • You’re a go-getter, enthusiastic, and down-to-earth.

What do we offer?

  • A challenging position in an interesting and complex field.
  • A competitive salary: depending on your skills and experience, ranging from a minimum of €4,519 to a maximum of €6,457 (scale 11 of the CAOP collective bargaining agreement) gross per month, based on a 38-hour workweek.
  • A one-year employment contract with the intention of converting it into a permanent contract.
  • A wide range of training and development opportunities, including through an online learning platform.
  • An inspiring work environment in the heart of The Hague, with the option to work from home part of the time.
  • Excellent benefits package in accordance with the CAOP Foundation Collective Bargaining Agreement, including:

o An Individual Choice Budget of 9.56% on an annual basis;

o A good pension plan through the ABP;

o An NS Business Card for trains, subways, buses, and trams, which you can also use for personal travel;

o Facilities such as a prayer room, quiet room, and lactation room, as well as vegetarian options in the company cafeteria and the option to swap various holidays;

o A net internet allowance and a contribution toward health insurance costs.

Who are we?

The CAOP Foundation is committed to a society in which everyone can participate and contribute—a society where people are seen, given opportunities, and where everyone benefits from progress. We achieve this by exploring, connecting, and transforming. We bring people, organizations, and governments together and tackle social issues in collaboration with them. We do this independently and through three mutually reinforcing brands: CAOP, Kennisland, and Sardes. By working together, we can scale successful local initiatives up to national programs, and conversely, we can test policies and put them into practice.
