

As the Facilities Skills Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of facilities-related matters necessary for the preparation and implementation of education, training, and drill programs for fire service professionals and external personnel at BOCAS locations.
As part of your new role within Professional Competence, you will contribute to the further development and professionalization of planning and administrative support for education, training, and exercises (ETX). Through a Professional Competence Service Point that is yet to be established, you will play a central role within BOCAS and the Professional Competence department, maintaining an overview, establishing connections, and ensuring effective coordination in the area of planning and administrative support for professional competence activities.

Experience with planning, coordinating, and aligning efforts in a complex environment is a plus.

The Amsterdam-Amstelland Fire Department is offering a position within a dynamic and ambitious organization as part of a professional team, with ample opportunities for personal development.
Our Professional Competence Department consists of approximately 50 professionals and ensures that our firefighting personnel maintain a high level of professional competence in terms of knowledge and skills. We play a leading role in the development of professional competence, from firefighters to the duty commander. The department consists of three teams: Learning and Development, Maintaining Professional Competence, and Achieving Professional Competence (including the Amsterdam-Amstelland Schiphol Fire Service Training Center).
BOCAS is the training and practice center of the Amsterdam-Amstelland Fire Department, with locations in Badhoevedorp and Uithoorn. Here, national and region-specific training courses up to the level of fire chief are provided, as well as refresher courses and drills for professional and volunteer firefighters. In addition, the locations are used by external parties such as other emergency services and other fire departments, and an external organization (FMTC) provides safety training in the fields of offshore and shipping.
The Vakbekwaam Worden/BOCAS team consists of approximately 20 dedicated and enthusiastic full-time staff members (instructors, planners, administrators, and consultants) and approximately 70 freelancers, each with their own expertise and background.
A Professional Competence Service Center is being established to support the Professional Competence Department. This service center will coordinate the planning and provide administrative support for education, training, and practice activities (ETP) with all stakeholders. This initiative aims to improve coherence and provide a clearer overview within the professional competence program. In this role, you will make a significant contribution to the establishment and development of this service point, which will consist of approximately 8 employees whose work will fall entirely or partially under its purview.
