We need you to ensure that our buildings are in top condition and that all facility management processes are well organized. Due to the departure of a colleague, we are immediately seeking a Head of Building Management and Facilities for 36 hours per week.
Organization & Department
The Stadsschouwburg and thePHIL are the two largest venues in the city of Haarlem. In addition to the Director, the department includes a Facilities Manager and three Caretakers.
What will you be doing?
As Head of Building Management and Facilities, you will be responsible for both tenant maintenance and scheduled owner maintenance of the historic buildings, as well as the maintenance and periodic replacement of building-related systems (excluding theater technology). A sample of your responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for all general maintenance tasks related to the halls, public areas, offices, and outdoor spaces;
- You are responsible for safety in and around the buildings;
- You will be responsible for preparing and handling requests for proposals, including drafting (technical) scope of work documents;
- You will be responsible for preparing special projects necessary for the optimal use of the buildings, such as obtaining certification (including NEN and Green Key) and/or major maintenance projects.
What are we looking for?
- You are an experienced and well-rounded manager with a college or university degree and knowledge of facility management;
- You have proven leadership experience and can communicate clearly;
- You are flexible and able to switch easily between different tasks and between internal and external clients without losing sight of the importance of keeping our operations on track;
- You have experience with budgets and technical reports and know how to adjust them as needed;
- You have an affinity for theater and music;
- In the event of urgent technical issues that threaten to disrupt a performance or event, you are available outside of office hours to resolve the issue (or have it resolved) or to come up with an alternative solution to the problem.
What do we offer?
- A varied job at top venues in downtown Haarlem;
- A role with a great deal of responsibility and room for change and optimization;
- An enthusiastic team of welcoming and passionate colleagues;
- Classification in pay grade 8 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Dutch Performing Arts Venues;
- You can attend many concerts and performances for free and bring a guest along; this applies not only to our own venues but also to our partner venues (Schuur and Patronaat) in the city;
- You will be offered a one-year contract, with the possibility of a permanent position.
