We are looking for enthusiastic, supportiveteam leaders for our various types of work.
For which teams?
- The Adult Services Team focuses on community development, volunteer placement, the Citizens’ Academy, and providing support and advice to resident-led initiatives and informal organizations. In addition, the team works on projects related to issues such as financial security and aging in place.
- The Youth Work team focuses on young people in high school and older. Through our youth centers, school-based youth work, and outreach youth work, we provide a safe space for young people. Here, they can be themselves, be heard, develop their talents, and feel safe. We are also present at secondary schools in Southeast Amsterdam and maintain a visible presence in the neighborhoods to build a relationship of trust with young people.
- The Children’s Services team focuses on children from birth through elementary school. Our drop-in playgroup is all about fostering connections within the neighborhood between parents/caregivers and children, as well as among parents/caregivers themselves. In addition, we organize fun and varied activities for children ages six to twelve at various locations and at a number of participating schools. Our activities are accessible to all, with a consistent focus on developing social skills, resolving conflicts constructively, increasing participation, and fostering better contact with parents.
What will you be doing?
- You will lead a team of professionals and oversee the quality and volume of our services, with a focus on team building, coaching, and employee development.
- You will ensure that the team is properly staffed and will be responsible for recruiting, selecting, and training new employees.
- You organize team meetings and training sessions to enhance the team’s expertise and promote collaboration.
- You will contribute to policy development and quality improvement within the organization, ensuring that our activities align seamlessly with Vivell’s vision and mission.
- You will build and maintain valuable networks both within and outside the organization that contribute to the achievement of our goals.
- You are the point of contact for the City of Amsterdam – Zuidoost District regarding your area of expertise within Vivell.
What do you bring to the table?
- At least a completed, relevant associate's degree.
- Demonstrable experience in the relevant field.
- Proven experience in leading a team of professionals and the ability to guide, mentor, and motivate them.
- Excellent communication skills.
- You are able to handle stress and are solution-oriented.
- A proactive and enterprising approach, in which you identify trends and discuss their implications.
- Strong analytical skills.
- An interest in the development of social work in Amsterdam Zuidoost.
- A valid Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is required.
- A DISC assessment is part of the process
What do we offer you?
- An independent role with plenty of room for your own input, in an open and stimulating work environment with great colleagues.
- You will be part of a team of fellow team leaders for Children's Ministry and Youth Ministry.
- The position is classified in pay grade 10 of the Social Work Collective Bargaining Agreement. Depending on education and experience, the salary is up to €6,107 gross per month for full-time employment (36 hours per week).
- A one-year contract with the intention of continuing the partnership in the long term.
- Excellent pension accrual.
- Various benefits under the Social Work Collective Bargaining Agreement, including a flexible spending allowance of 16.3% (including vacation pay) and a career development budget.
