Are you a collaborative leader who wants to make a meaningful contribution to euthanasia care in the Netherlands? The Euthanasia Expertise Center is seeking an experienced Regional Manager for the Southern Netherlands. In this role, you will lead our field staff and ensure that they can perform their work with care and professionalism.

The Euthanasia Expertise Center is the leading center of expertise in the field of euthanasia care. We ensure that anyone who requests euthanasia and is suffering unbearably and without prospect of improvement receives a thorough review of that request. By advising, guiding, supporting, and training physicians, we ensure that they are able to handle euthanasia requests on their own. When patients with a request for euthanasia cannot turn to their own doctor, we provide a safety net through our own outpatient teams.

Our outpatient teams consist of doctors and nurses who work in their own regions. Due to the growing number of requests, these teams have expanded significantly in recent years. We now have approximately 180 doctors and nurses working with us. For them, the Regional Managers are the first point of contact. We are looking for a new colleague for the South region, which covers parts of South Holland, Zeeland, Brabant, and Limburg.

What will you be doing as Regional Manager?

As a Regional Manager, you are responsible for managing and supporting the outpatient staff in your region. You ensure effective collaboration between doctors, nurses, case managers, and other relevant colleagues. You serve as a connecting link between the outpatient staff and the rest of the organization. You conduct individual meetings and engage with outpatient staff in various types of gatherings, such as the regional meetings that you organize and lead. You identify developments and opportunities in the field and translate these into policy. You participate in project groups and lead projects, for example, focused on optimizing work processes. And you actively contribute to the further professionalization of the organization.

You will work closely with the Regional Managers for the West and Northeast regions and collaborate with other departments such as Human Resources, Case Management, Medical Administration, Medical Management, and Consultation & Training. You will be part of the Patient Care Management Team and report to the Care Manager.

Who are you?

You are a collaborative and positive leader who believes in the power of teamwork. You know how to bring teams together and build their strength, and you create an open environment where employees feel heard and valued. You have a keen understanding of what healthcare professionals need to do their jobs well, and at the same time, you know how to provide direction based on policy and strategy.

You share the goals of the Euthanasia Expertise Center. You are decisive, have strong analytical skills, take initiative, and can work independently. You are skilled with numbers and can translate them into clear analyses, and you have experience with project and change management.

What else do you bring to the table?

  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, for example in health sciences, health management, or business administration.
  • You have at least five years of experience in a managerial role at the tactical level, preferably in the healthcare sector.
  • You have experience managing highly educated (healthcare) professionals.
  • You have knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  • You have a current Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG).

What we offer you

  • A meaningful, challenging role in a unique and socially responsible organization.
  • A 12-month temporary contract with the possibility of a permanent position.
  • An attractive salary ranging from a minimum of €4,953 to a maximum of €7,498 gross per month (based on a 36-hour workweek).
  • Excellent benefits package, including a company car.
  • A pleasant work environment within a professional team, with plenty of opportunities for growth and training.
  • Flexible work arrangement: You’ll work partly from our office in The Hague and partly from home, and you’ll regularly travel to meetings in the region.
