Business Leader/Operations Manager
Korzo is a unique theater programming and artist-in-residence center in The Hague, the city of dance. It is an inspiring performing arts venue that brings audiences and artists together in both an international and local context. Its primary focus is on connecting audiences with (as yet new) art and (as yet unknown) artists.
Korzo is also one of the seven development institutions within the Basic Infrastructure (BIS). At Korzo, they say, “Everything really comes together here—production, presentation, and education.” With a turnover of approximately 4 million euros and a staff of about 40, we produce at least 10 shows a year and organize two major festivals. And what really sets us apart is that more than half of Korzo’s audience is under 35!
We are looking for a passionate executive director for our unique theater programming and artists’ residency. We are seeking someone with sufficient financial experience, a strong grasp of HR, and fluency in both Dutch and English. We are looking for a strategic partner, someone with experience in the sector, who communicates effectively and proactively with everyone at Korzo, who isn’t afraid to speak up, and who understands the arts sector. We are looking for a partner who can serve as the right-hand person to Korzo’s Executive Director!
What will you be doing?
- You are responsible for ensuring that Korzo has a sound and transparent financial foundation, and to that end, you maintain contact with stakeholders, business partners, and grant providers. You are hands-on enough to take full responsibility for the finances as a hands-on team player.
- You are responsible for developing the organization’s business policies and strategy, formulating its long-term vision, and translating that vision into concrete multi-year plans.
- You will work to further optimize the internal organization by creating conditions that foster a professional work environment; streamlining business and administrative processes; and further developing employee policies.
- You will be responsible for Korzo’s administrative obligations, such as drafting and managing contracts (or having them drafted), preparing financial statements and annual reports, and ensuring that various relevant statistics are tracked in collaboration with the Finance and Marketing & Communications departments.
