
The Tomoko Mukaiyama Foundation (TMF) is seeking a part-timeBusiness Manager with knowledge of and experience in financial and organizational matters within the Dutch cultural sector, and preferably also the international cultural sector.
TMF is the foundation established by the Japanese-Dutch artist of the same name. TMF initiates and (co-)produces concerts, performances, installations, and video works in an unconventional and innovative manner, through which Tomoko embarks on a sensory adventure together with her audience. In doing so, aesthetics and ethics come together.
The work is presented at major venues and cultural sites such as Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ, the Meervaart, De Sloot creative hub, the Van Gogh Museum, Mediamatic, and The Merchant House in Amsterdam; the Paris Opéra; Willem II in Den Bosch; the Grand Theater in Groningen; Korzo in The Hague; and De Doelen in Rotterdam, as well as at festivals such as Oerol, November Music, Noorderzon, and Dekmantel, on various online platforms, as well as in various concert halls, museums, and at venues and festivals in Japan, Mexico, and Colombia. At the 2025 World Expo in Osaka, TMF will present the special program “We are the House.”
For the 2025–2028 Arts Plan period, TMF receives structural funding from the Performing Arts Fund and the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts. In addition, each production receives co-production contributions and grants from private funds and institutions, both national and international.
A team of staff members has been assembled around Tomoko, who serves not only as a creator but also as general and artistic director. This team is responsible for handling operational matters such as production, financial and contractual management, (online) marketing, client relations, fundraising, and strategic consulting. In addition, freelance staff are engaged on a project-by-project basis. There is also a bookkeeper and an accountant. To complete this team, TMF is seeking a Business Manager.
The Business Manager is part of Tomoko Mukaiyama’s team. In addition to working closely with Tomoko and the rest of the team, the Business Manager is responsible for:
