Ruimtetijd is seeking an experienced and driven Business Manager with strong financial skills and a network in the cultural sector—someone who thrives on navigating the balance between concept and execution, between the big picture and the nitty-gritty, between grand gestures and the smallest details.
About Spacetime
At Ruimtetijd, you don't just work—you make a difference
somewhere – You’ll be part of a vibrant ecosystem where art, nature, and social impact come together. We’re a hybrid cultural platform comprising a design studio, a physical space, and a foundation, all united by a shared mission to create space and time for meaningful experiences.
Our design studio has its roots in the performing arts and operates across multiple disciplines. We create unique experiences in public spaces—from installations to interventions—for the national and international cultural sector and the creative industry. We do this in collaboration with renowned artists and institutions such as Michel van der Aa, the Rijksmuseum, Boukje Schweigman, Oerol, Mojo, Het Zuidelijk Toneel, Opera Berlin, and Robert Wilson.
Our base of operations? Fort Penningsveer —a concrete gem near Haarlem, nestled in the countryside. We are transforming this historic fort, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the Defense Line of Amsterdam, into a creative landscape that transcends space and time. A place where creators work, live, explore, and present their work. Where residencies like AANGAAN come to life. Where art and nature meet.
This space also offers workspaces, group areas, meeting rooms, and event venues—and will soon feature its own on-site restaurant. In addition, through the De Groene Stelling Foundation, we are actively committed to impact projects that bring together heritage, ecology, and art. This is where thinking and doing come together.
Would you like to help build this unique place—and become part of a community that’s firmly rooted in the future?
You will contribute to the development of the organization through co-creation, team leadership, and the strengthening of partnerships and networks. - You will work closely with the external accountant to ensure clear financial reporting to partners and grantors.
- As the financial liaison between management, clients, and grant providers, you ensure clear, proactive communication and coordination.

- You are passionate about contributing to the business side of our mission to turn this co-creation space into a major player in the cultural sector.
- You're a real numbers nerd and get a kick out of balancing budgets and meeting all project schedules and deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of the Code of Governance and experience in establishing a governance model and legal structure for a BV-Stichting structure.
- A “getting things done” mindset with an eye for the artistic process.
