Helping victims starts with you lending a listening ear.
Victim Support Netherlands assists victims, survivors, witnesses, and others affected by a crime, traffic accident, disaster, or other traumatic event. They can turn to us for emotional support, practical assistance (such as help with filing a claim for compensation), and support during criminal proceedings. Every year, we help hundreds of thousands of victims and surviving relatives in person or online. Victim Support Netherlands is a national organization with 25 locations. Together, we help victims move forward today.
After a traumatic event, a wide range of emotions come into play, and victims, bereaved family members, witnesses, and others involved must deal with various agencies. On behalf of Victim Support Netherlands, you will be the first point of contact for victims over the phone. You will lend a listening ear and discuss what kind of assistance is needed. In some cases, a phone call with you may be sufficient. If necessary, you will refer them to the appropriate services.
To ensure we can provide the best possible support, we require a minimum availability of 4 to 6 hours per week, during fixed time slots. During your first few weeks, you will complete a training program of 8 to 12 hours per week at the Victim Support Academy.
You do meaningful work: you make a real difference in someone’s life during a vulnerable and difficult time. Of course, we’ll help you do this work well:
Victim Support Netherlands is committed to being a good employer. That is why we ensure:
