DansBrabant, a pioneer in contemporary dance, is seeking a board chair.

About Us

DansBrabant is a hub for the development of contemporary dance and choreography. Based in Tilburg, we work to foster a vibrant dance scene in the south of the Netherlands. We feel most connected to artists who boldly push the boundaries of the discipline and work across genres. We believe in sustainability and long-term vision. That is why we support multi-year research and work closely with artists to explore new practices and forms of presentation.

Board of Directors

The board aims to achieve a composition that represents professional expertise, business and financial management, legal matters, organizational development, and communication. The Cultural Governance, Fair Practice, and Diversity and Inclusion codes serve as guiding principles in this regard. In addition to attending regular meetings, each member is prepared to constructively challenge and advise the team based on their own expertise. The board is explicitly seeking a composition that reflects the diversity and variety of our society.

Who we're looking for – profile

The current board possesses expertise in content, governance, and finance. DansBrabant is looking for a new chairperson who is willing to engage proactively in regional and national administrative networks, serve as a strategic partner in strategy development, and who (at least partially) fits the following profile:

  • You have an affinity for the performing arts, cross-media arts, and contemporary dance.
  • You have knowledge of and a relevant network within the provincial and national cultural policy sectors.
  • You follow the strategic and artistic decisions made by the organization and question them critically and constructively.
  • You are willing to represent DansBrabant at key events.

Comment

We warmly invite candidates who identify with this description and who would like to contribute to a dynamic dance community to apply and discuss the details of the position with us.

The board meets an average of four times a year. The work is unpaid, but expenses are reimbursed.
