The RiBA Partnership is seeking a chairperson and two members for a new Board of Trustees. Would you like to help implement a new governance structure and make a difference for students in Ridderkerk, Barendrecht, and Albrandswaard? Your leadership vision and experience are essential for a future in which every child can participate. Join us and help promote inclusive education in this region.
The RiBA Partnership is committed to developing appropriate and inclusive education in the municipalities of Ridderkerk, Barendrecht, and Albrandswaard. Our 35 partner schools and 9 school boards support nearly 11,000 students in their learning process, with a special focus on children with special needs. We are seeking passionate candidates for the positions of chairperson and two members of our Board of Trustees. Do you want to contribute to a future where every child counts, regardless of background or abilities? If so, we warmly invite you to apply.
The RiBA Partnership is an organization dedicated to providing appropriate education in the region. The administrative office supports schools in providing the right support to students, so that every child can develop to their full potential. We also handle, among other things, the issuance of eligibility statements for special education placements. With a team of 16.4 full-time equivalents, we work under the leadership of the executive director to realize our mission: education that offers everyone the opportunity to participate.
Effective December 1, 2024, we will transition to a new governance structure, comprising an Executive Director, an independent Supervisory Board, and a Participants’ Council. The Executive Director is responsible for management and reports to the Supervisory Board, which oversees compliance with legal obligations, the quality of management, and the achievement of the partnership’s objectives.
The Supervisory Board consists of three independent members and plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality and inclusive education. We are seeking candidates who are not only knowledgeable but also willing to contribute their expertise and personal networks when needed. The Board operates in accordance with the principles of the Code of Good Governance (VTOI-NVTK) and functions completely independently of the affiliated schools and school boards.
As chairperson, you are an inspiring and proactive leader with extensive administrative experience. You possess natural authority and are skilled at leading meetings and processes. You prioritize the interests of the students and their parents, while striking a balance with the interests of other stakeholders. You are a connector who, with respect for diversity and individuality, safeguards unity within the partnership and fosters collaboration. Experience as a supervisor is a plus.
Each member of the Supervisory Board brings their own expertise to the table, with a focus on education, youth care, finance, or legal matters. We are looking for candidates with knowledge of elementary education and/or youth care, or with financial and legal expertise. An affinity with specialized support for students or youth services is a plus. We strive to ensure that our Board of Trustees is a good reflection of the society in which we operate and works as a complementary team in terms of background and expertise.
As a member of the Supervisory Board, you will attend meetings on average five times a year and participate in consultations with the Support Plan Council (OPR) and the Participant Council. The chairperson also holds regular consultations with the executive director and serves as a sounding board. We estimate that this role will require an average time commitment of four hours per month. Your dedication is crucial to ensuring appropriate education in our region, as you will contribute to optimal collaboration between schools, school boards, and other stakeholders.
The compensation for members of the Supervisory Board is in line with market rates. Previously, the compensation was set at €4,500 per year for members and €6,500 per year for the chair. Travel and other expenses are reimbursed, and a professional development budget is available.
